Come on Al - youre not 80 yrs old fella!!! Have to say the carbon fibre/leather trim on the new M3 is really stunning and definitely the best trim option imo.

In my octogenarian defense, the standard "Titanium" trim on the SE looks completely rotten against cream beige leather and as far as I can see, there are two kinds of aluminium trim, one of which is cheap, nasty, and disgusting in any light and against any colour of interior and the other only looks good with black or grey interiors.

PeteJ has the acceptable aluminium trim, perhaps he could let me know it's official description?

That doesn't leave much choice left and given the colour of the seats, carpet, headlining etc., (in my car) the wood trim gave a warm looking and colour matching effect.

In fact, given my druthers, the next car, if it has Champagne Merino leather will get red brown fig eucalyptus trim...

I'm afraid I can't be saved Doctor...

I like it and think it looks good - but to be brutally frank i dont think its much if any better than the CF/Leather option that some of us have on our M3's - maybe it looks a lot better in the flesh - either way, well done and nice car!

The pics don’t do it justice. In flesh IMO it looks awesome and most definitely a lot better then the leather carbon trim.

Any wood trim is dung on modern motors. All glossy and bits around the doors etc serving no structural purpose. Its a natural material so used for decoration doesnt quite work imho.

Check this old jag out. The wood looks great and servers a purpose, so it works aesthetically.

Not a fan of the carbon fibre either, a material used for its lightness and stiffness, not to decorate the dash. It looks like black carpet with a clearcoat. Mmmnn lovely!

I have aliminium trim and black leather interior on the 330i and its the best of a bad bunch on the bimmers imho.

We are quite limited in our trim options on most cars. Trims are ripe for customisation - detachable bespoke trim cant be that hard to manufacture, or design. Swapsie potential is huge!

On the 330i with black leather, mines a a silver and dark blue paisley pattern covered with a clearcoat. Or perhaps a white leather effort, or mebbe a purple wallpaper indian takeaway stylee.
