I used to have the HKS SSQV and fckin loved it. Some people hate it because it's the loudest one on the market and people classify it as "ricey". If you don't mind the loudness, it's awesome to have. I'm currently running the TialQ and it's nice, refined and more tame.

As for the Synapse, I've never heard one in person and don't think anyone locals have one.

I don't really mind loud or care if other ppl think its "ricey". if I'm going to get a bov, might as well get one I can hear and sounds nice to me. Its just really hard to judge the sound off youtube videos. I need to go to a meet or something and hear some bov's

One of my friend used to have the hks on his 335i and i remember liking it..but that was 4 years ago and i can't remember what it sounded like in person. The synapse seems to sound just like stock with the diverter valves unplugged
