Conti Sport Contact 5 vs 5P
Alright guys,
Just wondering if anyone knows the difference between the Continental Sport Contact 5 and the 5P. I get that the 5P is the ultimate performance one, but I can only get them for the rears on my car. The fronts, I'd have to go 235 width or just get 5s. Alternatively I get 5s all round? Anyone got any experience of how they wear?

I asked this question before.
5P is the same compound as the 5 as far as I was responded: But is available in the wider sizes and is aimed at "premium cars" IE it's 19" or above in wide ish profiles. The 5 is fine. And running these tyres myself, let me say they are brilliant tyres. Best I've ever run. As my Santa Pod fastest diesel medal proved

I have these tyres although I can't say I remember choosing between 5 and 5p. I do remember their being an Audi specific derivation (RO??). Anyway, what I can say is the 5Ps I have are great tyres, better even than the Michi PS2 I was used to.

I've had quite a few sets of F1s on previous cars & always found them very good; quiet with good grip but I never found they wore that well, unless it was me driving too enthusiastically

Have them on a mapped 335d (255 35 R18), good grip, but don't last very long. I'm going to move to Goodyear AS 2 when the winter tyres come off in March! |
