Thanks for sharing, Do you have a baseline dyno run to get a better idea on how much gains you got from this setup?

Also next time make sure to datalog your dynos runs

Is your car actually cobb pro tuned or is this a stage 2+ dyno like the printout says.

There is a huge difference between the two. Show us some boost numbers so we can clarify.

If it was done at Cobb, I'd hope it was actually a custom tune. I have to agree without a baseline the number is moot but dynos are used as a tool to find power, so that much is fine.

the car screams. i'm still getting to know it post mods and i think/hope some of the times when i've been less than satisfied with the butt dyno it's been due to the lack of a LSD and not any tuning issues.. it's now cobb from nose to tail with a custom cobb pro tune so i'm assuming this is the best the engine is going to give without a turbo swap. My oem lsd of course is welded - "newer" bmw is loosing me.. i'm waiting on Vorshlag to get back to me with the green light on an opening at the shop. they tell me it may take a month for the lsd (front camber plates too) so i'm going to go get a 2002 e46 and start a spec car... slowly

I have pretty much the same mods and running probably the same cobb Protune. I hit between 20to22 psi at 5k rpms.

There is definitely more power to be had. I would never of thought whp was so low at only 33x... my car runs very rich at almost 10:1 afr at 22psi. Cobb is definetly being very conservative with timing and fuel.

Other platforms use this same b03 to produce peak horsepower at 22psi and then ramp up to 26 psi till redline to avoid power from falling off past 5k rpms. Only pitfall to this is stress on the turbo as its riding at the the edge of its efficiency plot. Biggest concern for bmws is the extra heat that comes with pushing the turbo that hard.

That torque peak is nice but ive never seen a bmw's torque curve fall off so hard. I don't like these curves at all. Hopefully when I dyno mine I see better results. Maybe I'll get the local tuner to make some modifications if my curves end up looking like that.

I honestly think the biggest issue is the inability to tune the vanos points. You're supposed to be tuning for peak torque in one dyno then peak hp in another dyno in order to find the ideal vanos setpoint. The results end up being less peaky torque but flat throughout the power band. Pretty sure this is also why power is pretty much plateaus and never peaks closer to 6500rpms like it normally should. Judging this based of vanos tuning guides I've read.

Your car shouldn't be running rich at 10:1 at 22psi even if it was 20psi. I would have your tuner look at that protune you have. I had a Wedge E50 protune and I never hit that rich.

+1 I am surprised your car isn't misfiring if the AFR is hitting 10:1. My car would misfire bad when the afr dipped that low. i believe my 91 and E50 ptf tunes target 12.1 in the top end. car runs solid.

It's poor tuning by COBB I think.

AFR should lean back out to about 12-12.5 at redline. ~10.5 @ 20psi (more common peak) is too rich (too much fuel). Which is why I say they leave power on the table.

Ethanol has different chemical properties and I am pretty sure would a good tuner wouldn't be tuning the AFR for an E50 mix the same as with 93AKI... no comparison there?

Can Akleifg provide a log showing AFR and other parameters???

The torque falls off so hard because it can't support the psi as the rpms rise and its out of its efficiency range. If you run it too high down at peak torque, you're just blowing hot air and can make less peak power because the turbo is out of breath.
