Best alarm for comfort access
Hello Members,
I am currently looking for the best alarm possible for the average price. Only thing I need your help with is finding an alarm that will work best with my comfort access. I am looking for an alarm that simply unlocks, locks, opens trunk, has a tilt sensor and shock sensor. If there is one that has an adjustable sensor module even better. I like my alarm to be very sensitive. Will even perhaps like it to have a proximity sensor. Is there anything out there that can fit my needs and works great with comfort access ? Its for going to be for a e92 coupe with a built date of 07/09. Thanks |

No, you dont need it to be sensitive. You need it to be accurate. Get the 507M tilt sensor and the 509u ultrasonic. Then set the impact sensor for a reasonable level. False alarms do NOT create security.
I think you can get the SmartStsrt module connected to the CAN-OEM and have smartphone notification of an alarm... |

BUMP.
About to pull the trigger on ordering the alarm but before I do, I found that DEI has many CAN-OEM alarms. Would you guys know which one below is the best one ? 3901T, 3901V, 330X1 ? Thanks guys |

Thanks VP. according to xpresskit, the 3901T is the one compatable but its listed as a Python not a Viper. Same quality alarm with smartstart notification option?
Also doesnt look like expresskit has the option to buy, any sites where i can purchase the kit along with the tilt and ultrsonic sensor ? |

buy.com has it for 48.99 and newegg has it for 50.00 (+1.99 shipping). http://www.buy.com/prod/avital-3901t...213517799.html http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2148&Tpk=3901T you will also need the XKLOADER2 (approx $30) to program the bmw firmware to it, unless you can borrow one from someone or get a shop to program it for you: http://www.amazon.com/Directed-Elect...8656028&sr=8-1 http://www.buy.com/prod/xpress-kit-x...210851948.html also, mine came with Hornet stickers. no brand is listed on the box besides Directed Electronics (DEI) and Xpresskit. |

Thanks Mickris, I will look through those sites and put together a kit. Didn't know I needed the XKloader.
I am going to buy the 3901T + XKLOADER + 507M tilt sensor + 509U ultrasonic sensor. I believe with this alarm system I should be ready. I will contact xpresskit and see if its possible to get the module so i can receive phone notifications. |

no problem. i just installed this alarm myself in my 2011 328i sedan. I wrote up a rough install guide in this thread (its at the bottom of page 2) if you want to do it yourself:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=643298 i think it should be pretty much the same for a coupe. |

Just read your thread. I don't think I am good for this type of job. Plus I am installing an ultrasonic sensor and tilt sensor so it will be a little more complicated. I am just going to buy everything online and take it to a local shop.
Good DIY for those who are willing to try though |
