Amp/Sub Install questions Logic 7
2008 335i sedan
Logic 7 Ok, I've looked through the existing guides and posts about installing amps and subs with the Logic 7 system but I've still got a few questions. I've purchased a Kenwood 500w class d mono amp , and plan to use it to power a single 10" Kicker Solo Baric L7 sub in the trunk. The amp has speaker level inputs and signal sensing turn-on . Do I still need a LOC or Hi/Lo conv. ? I plan to take it to a shop for install but am trying to determine what the cost should be before going as I am not experienced (obviously) . |

If the amplifier accepts hi level input you shouldn't need a LOC. But from my experience the auto-sensing/built in LOCs don't work very well. Make sure you bring it to a reputable shop - I've seen first hand what most shops consider 'acceptable' - and it's far from that.

Chances are, the L7 amp subwoofer output is too much for the amp's built-in hi/lo converter. What's the max. input voltage? If it is less than 10V, forget about it!
