People amaze me.. ******** sent my trim out on the 16th insured and tracked... exactly how i sent it to him.. I have a military mail box and everything takes longer to get here and the military has a habit of "throwing" and "dropping" boxes... then when the boxes get here crushed and you make a claim they say "it wasnt packaged right".... but if you have the proof that the post office picked up the package... even without insurance the post office is liable... Furthermore did you read about that letter that was lost in the postal service since the 60s and was just delivered a few weeks ago?

This guys is an idiot to use usps to ship something this valuable. Always, ship with ups or fedex. You get a real tracking number you can actually track. |

+1,000. Every golf ball order we send out (via USPS) has a delivery confirmation ticket with tracking number. The vendor should have known that, or I'm sure he DID know.

Whenever I send things using priority, delivery confirmation is optional, but I get it every time to cover my own ass. Express mail comes with a tracking number.

As the purchaser of something of this much value, you'd be an idiot not to ensure the package was tracked. I don't care how much more I have to pay, I'm not going to trust $1900 dollars worth of anything in the mail without tracking.
Dumb dumb dumb.... I guess your only option is to wait it out. There are reasons why scammers are rich menn. |

After reading this section, I was expecting something useful like "plaster his name on the forums so no one buys from him again," or "find out where he lives and kill his dog, and then when they're burying the dog in the backyard, drop out of the trees like ninjas and kidnap them to sell into the sex slave trade."
You let me down with your reasonable suggestion. |

There are a couple threads scattered throughout the subforums. I'm no genius, but I'm thinking a search would maybe net you some results.

USPS is horrible! I had an experience a while back, when I ordered my JB2. I received a confirmation/tracking number and followed it daily. Finally the day came to where the tracking number changed to delivered! I could not wait to get home! But to my suprise, nothing on my doorstep, nothing in my mailbox! I was pissed, I automatically assumed someone from my housing complex stole my JB2! So at that point I called USPS to make sure the package was delivered, I was assured by my post office that my mailman confirmed that he delivered it to my address and they advised that it may have been stolen .
So at this point I contact Terry and work with him to get me another JB ordered and we do so.. And to my surprise, literally 2 days later I get a response from Terry advising that the package was returned to him due to an incorrect address?! Now my address was correct! Why did my postman document that the package had been delivered, when it was returned to sender?! USPS not to be trusted! |

If it is who I think it is for the vendor, I've never had problems with him at all. I did pay more for Fedex shipping because Fedex is probably the most reliable service and I've got an account with them too.
If he's sent it by USPS 2-3 day Priority, he can provide you with the receipt number which you can use for tracking. Give him a call, ask for the receipt number which I'm sure he can provide. Insurance is usually an extra service on packages and is not default. Plus insurance only covers up to $500 anyway for USPS. In all honesty, all the vendor can do for you now is to provide the receipt number. You should be able to track with that but even IF you have a tracking number and the package is lost, what good will it do? Tracking will show "at sorting facility" and that's it. You should be going after USPS for this. |

hey genius, good job on being subtle. No name was disclosed by the OP and the few of us were just taking a guess based on the available info.

What gets me is that costs so little to insure an item and have the confirmed delivery attached. Less than $10 easy.
OP, why in the world didn't you remove the vents etc. before sending the pieces out? Just a bunch of torx/philips screws to remove ...... |
