e90 320 to e90 m3 rep

hio
heres the thread i said i would start to help anybody if they are dull enough to go ahead with such a thing

it was a crash damadged e90 i bought so instead of replacing all the panels with originals though might aswell go for a rep look

the rear panels have been done with oem e90 m3 panels, got the rear bumper also to be fitted and will be having a custom exhaust for the m3 look

i was given the front wings with the car but i think they are replicas so they will be changed to oem if this is the case?

list of parts so far to be changed
wheels
bonnet
bumper
wings (if these are reps]
lights
light brackets
washer bottle
carbon fibre bumper carrier but gonna try without first
air ducts
misc brackets

i want to use lci parts if anyone has any help or info if these will fit it will be greatly appreciated as i going into this without much understanding of these cars

heres a few pics as car stands now

as said any help or information appreciated and hopefully others will find this usefull cheers

Is she a petrol? Least it will sound better than a diesel. How badly damaged was the car mate? Any pics? Whats the total budget for this ?

Are you going to do interior also?

According to my local dealership they did?
07-08 Pre lci
Then changed 08-11
Lots of conflicting info out there makes this build even more confusing

You will require changing all the pre-tensioners in the car and car's battery safety terminal as well to reset the airbag module.

If the car has been involved in three or more accident then you may require new airbage module or wiping the memory of the current airbag module.

Not sure about LCI changes on M3, but pre-LCI spare parts will work out cheaper for you in this instance.

Fairly sure the lci e92 m3 is the same up front, rear lights are upgraded.
If its just the white headlights you want then read up on the many and varied new angel eye bulbs, its the closest you'll get to lci headlights.

What Carl says

The E90 M3 always had the coupe front end so when the standard saloon 'went' LCi, only the M3's rear lights/bootlid changed along with the CIC Har Drive based Nav system.

Pic below is my old LCi M3 (2010 car) to give you an idea of what it should look like - you will have to get a genuine M3 bonnet as well as the front end is slightly longer than the usual coupe one and will be too short otherwise. Be careful of reps as they are usually designed to go on a non M3 car (ie: onw with a standard front bumper and wings)

None of the M3's ever received the LCi front end treatment.

Speak to member NJ 1161 - he built an E92 M3 replica based on a 335d and his work was fantastic. He's also finalising his build on a genuine M3 coup which is breathtaking. He is undoubtedly one of the finest modders this site has and will be a wealth of knowledge. Check out his threads an make contact, he'll be a big help.

I've got front headlight brackets you'll need to fit oem bumper. May have a few bits knocking around you'll need!

And sheps, you're too kind !

Thanks for replys and part offers its appreciated and will be in touch,

I was tempted to go down the replica route for the front end today as the savings will be massive and be so much easier. http://www.ppcgb.com/
Seems some tidy stuff and the guy I talked to was very helpfull just worried the final look won't be worth it so still oem parts gonna be used I think, could change my mind though

This is exactly what I'm trying to do right now. I have M3 rear bumper, M3 side skirts and M3 front wings. Just looking for front bumper.

Car slowly coming together, slight change in plans as I'm using replica parts instead of oem as after a lot of consideration i cannot justify the cost on a 320d, anyway it's should be in the paint shop within the next two weeks so it's decision time, I'm thinking of Atlantis blue or something close do you guys have any ideas/pics of a colour to go with?
Over to you for any input
Cheers

I'd go with a standard M3 colour to pull off the "M3 rep" look as you want it too look like a real one. But maybe I'm talking shit....

I think Atlantis looks ok. But white, grey or black would be better IMHO.

White was my original choice but think its been done to death every other car seems to be white with a black roof , silverstones a possability mate had a m3 that looked nice in the flesh, got a soft spot for Atlantis blue, not bothers about sticking to BMW colours so anything considered
