Drl angel eyes
But of a newbie to the e90 still. Is there a way to set the angel eyes as drl's? I've been on the on board computer thing and set the drl as on but this enables the headlights and rear lights to be on all the time? Can I change this just to angel eyes?

You only get the corona rings as DRLs if you have xenons.

I have xenons but when I switch the drl 'on' it keeps all the lights on not just the angel eyes like I want, I keep the auto light switched on all the time but feel but of a twit driving round in broad daylight with my lights on constantly. Maybe I've done it wrong?

Were the xenons factory-fit or some aftermarket fitment?

Very odd. Just the corona rings should come on with DRL.

Xenon, not always.
In some cars, DRL activate corona rings and in others it activates corona + xenons.

Not true. You can code LCI halogens angels as drl.

Yes you can code it but I was referring to standard operation. I think the OP's car had the corona rings which were only "sidelight-bright" rather than the later which had H8 bulbs and eventually LEDs. On those early cars the DRL lights the headlight too.

Might be obvious but you mentioned leaving the headlights in auto position. Have you tried switching them off and only having DRL's on through the menu? This is what I get
DRL's on, main light switch off - Just angel eye rings (very bright) DRL's on, main light switch to position 1\auto - Angel eye rings slightly dimmer than above + dipped beams. DRL's on and main light switch to position 2\full - Angels eye rings very bright + Xenons on full. |

Going to look into this tomorrow and see if I have done the on board computer thing right.
So if I have drl's set as 'on' and I have my lights set to 'auto' both the angel eye rings and xenons will be on? But if I have the drl's set as 'on' and I have my lights set 'off' the. Just the angel eye rings will be on. Is there no way of having the drl's set as ' on' and lights set on 'auto' and just the angel eyes being lit during the day? This is what I though would happen anyway? |

Nah, not sure a main dealer would do it as it would prob need ncs expert - a factory coding tool.
Will go look at the zone now.
