Unhappy HELP!

So in the past I have tried all this before with a cable and software from ebay and had no joy so gave it to a mate. I have now bought another one and trying again with no luck.

I am doing it this time on windows xp through virtual pc. Last night the battery and ignition light was black when I tried it but I was getting an error message 95 sys-0005, I tried a few things tonight and tried again and I am getting no ignition and the same error. why can I not get these bloody things to work!

Iv looked through so many posts on problems and tried following the advice to fix it with no luck. I have also installed 3 times following installation steps each time.

Can anyone help this is driving me crazy.

Can you post some screenshots of the error? Is your cable good quality? 2008 drivers installed? Latency set to 1? Try downloading the ready installed virtual machine...

The error that I am getting is the same as the one in this video
. The cable cost me £20 and is said to be high quality so I hope it is lol. Latency is set to one and ports are configured. I'm using the windows virtual PC with the xp mode add on.

Try using Rheingold to verify your cable is working ok. Re your sys 0005 error. See FAL's explanation below:

Quote:
The SYS-0005 error means that it can't find the correct SGBD file for your DDE (a description file specific to your type of ECU). Look in C:\Ediabas\Bin and find a file called Ediabas.ini - Open it with Notepad and look for [ECUPath]. It should be set to C:\Ediabas\ECU. If that doesn't work, open C:\Ediabas\ECU and look for a file called D40M57A1.prg and a file called D_0012.grp

If using virtual PC might be best to download the V3 Preloaded image?

That's an idea. Everyone else seems to set this up without any real issues. Iv tried it twice withe different pcs and Cables with no luck. It's so frustrating.
