id be interested-would there be any power increase with stock downpipes and stock exhaust by removing the secondary cats? Any sound increase also-id love it to be a little deeper and am probably going to get dp soon but this seems a lot easier to install/uninstall

I like the option of a flanged connection to switch between test pipes and cats. But I'd prefer to have flanged resonators instead of test pipes, then could have a local shop put flanges on my stock secondary cats to switch with the resonators for an emissions test.
Thinking an ideal exhaust for me would be catless downpipes, catless midpipes with flanged resonators, and stock mufflers, good flow but quiet. |

i would be interested, but hesitant about actually finding a place that would weld these up to the 3rd section.
Since ive requested muffler shops to straight pipe the 2nd section out. |

If they are done properly, the midpipes would fit right onto the stock axle back. You could simply use a slip joint clamp if you didn't want to have it welded. At least use the slip joint to drive it to your local shop where they simply throw a bead on it.

Another note, since resonators have to be welded on anyways, just flang them in place of the stock secondary cats. This should simplify the process by having the resonators flanged and removable. This allows you to just swap in your flanged custom/high flow cats instead of resonators for emissions... I doubt anyone cares if their car is a bit raspier for smog Then again, the cats would muffle that out. And to defeat the cell codes there is o2 sim fix or procede. The only part we can't bypass now is the actual sniffer, which this solves.

Plus shipping would be cheaper since the pipes will be flanged and come apart in smaller pieces. Granted, the cost of the resonators/cats/flanges would outweigh the shipping savings, but at least there'd be some price offset.

I would love to have a mid pipe like the AMS mid pipe. A single 2.5" or 3" mid pipe would be great and weight saving. I would get the mated mid pipe and run a single magnaflow and run it out to dual tips with piping. Weight saving, plus the nice added power. Let me know if he could fab something like that for the same price.

I shipped midpipes and downpipes out for less than 40 bucks if i remember correctly... So if they were in a smaller box you could probably do it for around 30ish. Negligible.

Seriously, this isn't a hard product to manufacture.... In fact, this should be easily made for about 300 bucks or 350 with a profit. With the test pipe option it should be worth it to many people. Catless downpipes, with testpipe'd midpipes = pass emissions and still be cat less. The stock midpipes have nice flattened parts in the pipe reducing flow most certainly because they get pancaked.
