Mine seems to have toned down a bit, or I'm getting used to it. It's really only when I cruise 1st and 2nd gear at 2000 rpms. During heavy throttle and highway driving it sounds awesome, I do a lot of city driving and I know it's going to be a cop magnet.

I'm confident that adding the Magnaflow mufflers will get me the tone I'm looking for all around.

My PE sounds like a rasp rocket with downpipes haha, I'm installing the 1790's this coming week to take care of it.

running full catless, vibrant resonators, x-pipe, and stock muffler. Still a bit of rasp in the low rpms though. Anything more I can do to get rid of it completely?

Hmmm. That strange as I have catless also with xpipe and resonators and I have no rasp at all. Worst case is to weld another pair onto exhaust, but I still find it hard to believe you have rasp down low.

I don't have a BMW but I have been searching to see if anyone has used the Vibrants 1792 resonators and I stumbled upon this thread. I'm trying to reduce the drone in my car right now. I have an 2012 Sonata and just got CP-E's new exhaust and it sounds awesome on my car. The wife though doesn't care for it much because it has a lil drone in the lower rpm's when accelerating, but hardly any if I'm coasting and not on the gas. So I was thinking about adding the 1792 resonator to the rear section of my exhaust. From what I gather from this thread, it should help me out a lot.

On another note, I figured I could help you guys out as well. Has anyone tried using the Magnaflow resonated X-Pipe. I think the part number is 11386. I had a G35 coupe prior and this helped me out A LOT. It reduced the drone and got rid of all of my rasp due to my test pipes. I think that and maybe the 1792's would help out a lot form your car as well. It gave my car a more deeper tone as well. If you YouTube G35 Injen exhaust magna flow you should find my car. It has Hawaii plates. I have a before and after video that you can compare it to.

Thanks for all of the great info and user reviews inside of this thread!

Has anyone tried the Vibrant 1140's? I have read everything hear about the 179x series, but I can't find anything about the 1140's they are supposed to be the Ultra quiet ones. Anyone know if they would have clearance issues? Its dimensions are 4 1/2" x 6 3/4" x 14". Heres a link to it: http://vibrantperformance.com/catalo...products_id=45

Those are way too big to fit underneath the car. There is already very little clearance as is. Plus the ones ones in the link are not made for aftermarket exhaust as 2.25 is for OEM piping. I would stick to the 1792 or 1790 series for stock setup. The 179x series is better fit. My setup is pretty quiet to begin with and almost sounds stock like. I am sure with the ones you posted link it would be even more tame, but space and size is the limiting factors here.

I am going to order these resonators here is a vid of mine. It's crazy loud, and the drone on the highway around 2500 rpm is awful, sounds amazing when pulling.

I have a 2012 BMW 335I, and I am looking to add vibrant resonators to my existing exhaust to cut down on droning..

Can anyone tell me what exact resonators I need? What series?

If your using stock exhaust and want to add resonators, these will not work for your car as its for 2.50 diameter piping....You would need the 2.25 diameter ones which are #1790...I cant believe your saying stock exhaust without any modifications would drone! but anyway thats what you would need #1790

You must have very sensitive ears.

I have a Meisterschaft GTC exhaust (no muffler), JB4 stage 1, and challenge HFC downpipe on a 2012 BMW 335I F30. It is not stock. That is why I am looking into resonators...Definitely is loud as shit. I don't know if it is technically drone or not, but in the low RPMS it is really really loud inside the cabin.. Would this be considered drone? Seems like the resonators should help that..I think some people said get a high flow cat to eliminate drone, but I already have that..

So it WOULD be the # 1792 I need then correct? Since it is not stock I am running..

I know this is the E90 forum, but I tried getting info in the F30 section and didn't get any response..

Are you sure resonators will help him? I thought they were for high frequencies.

How did it turn out? I'm rasping at high rpms with catless dp and pe. I still have my secondary resonators in, but where did you install these to eliminate the rasp?

Tks

will the vibrant 1790 resonators get rid of the dreaded wastegate rattle / rasp that i get around 1200-2200 RPM's w/ Downpipes & OEM Exhaust ?

should the resonators replace the secondary cats or be in addition to secondary cats on oem exhaust for least rasp / best sound w oem exhaust?

I'm debating taking my car in for new turbos under the 82k mile extended warranty to get rid of wastegate rattle and being w/o a car for a week or just getting these resonators...

thanks for your help!

I put mine in place of the secondary cats. Still have rattle.
If you put them after the secondary cats it may help more but doubt it will be significant.
