335 is mine dammit!

Help me.
When I bought our 335 the idea was that it would be the car my wife drives to work and that we would drive it on the weekends. At work she parks in a garage and I park under trees saturated with diuretic birds. We have kids so we also have a 06 Honda Odyssey, which if you have kids you realize it’s the perfect family car.
Here is the problem. I have become a 335 addict. I want to mod the car but she wants a car of her own. I go crazy when she drives it, checking the rims for curb rash, soiling my pants when she pulls out of the driveway and scrapes the front bumper, weeping openly when she forgets her make-up on the leather seats.
In my desperation I have come up with the following solution, buy her a used late model X5. That would mean having 3 cars and that’s always felt like a waste to me. But I’m desperate.
I need some advice, should I just let it go? Or should I just get the 3rd car? I don’t trust my state of mind at this moment.

IMO if you're gonna buy an X5 you dont need the Honda. Actually that depends on how many kids you have.

the fight... lol isnt worth it... you'll pay now and later.

I always use the excuse... buy a stick... chances are the gfriend/wife cant drive it so she wont/cant use it.

and if there was curb rash on the rims... whatcha gonna do, flip out on her and you'll end up paying for it anyway... in the whole scheme of things is it worth it for a rim? I bought my girfriend a sonata and she beats that to hell... she knows she doesnt EVER drive my car RE:cell phone talking, prior collisions, her car beat up.

gl man

Get the X5, after 4 years and 47,500 miles (76,000km), still running fine (keeping my fingers crossed)!

My wife drives the minivan. She is afraid to drive the BMW because she knows how anal I am about the car. Convince her that the BMW is too powerful and the Odessy is safer. I feel you pain about the curb rash.

Get a car cover for $40 and cover up the 335 when you park under those trees.

First things first. "Honda" and "perfect" should never, ever, be placed together in the same sentence. Especially on a BMW forum.

Dood, I bought a Stick cause "It's a Performance Car honey, it has to be a stick."

Keeps her the hell out from behind the wheel and after 5 years of watching her torture her Infiniti, (Not a Straight Panel to be found). She's not coming close to my car.

Although she did pay for it pretty much...

a honda/toyota/kia.... are perfect for many people in many situations

if you have to haul stuff around for kids, I hear a minivan is far superior to an SUV

not everybody needs to be whipping around corners in a luxury sedan

New Civic coupe is pretty damn near perfect for a lot of people too... Affordable, fun as hell and will last (Trouble Free) for the next 15 years or so...

So yeah I agree with Ward. Don't like it But I do, LOTS AND LOTS of fantastic cars out there without a freaking propeller on the hood that make a lot more sense than a BMW.

That's just the way it is.

+1, ha ha, that's why I was so adamant to get a stick for this one. I even paid for her to take MT lessons, but it the end, she gave up.

Teach her how to drive the 335i to avoid those scrapes--treat your leather seats with the appropriate conditioners. We just picked up a 335i convert for my wife and she is more particular then me when it comes to parking and keeping the car clean..etc. The only problem I have with my wife is for her to keep the convert under warp speed during break-in. She is glad I talked her out of getting the 328i--she loves the twin turbo! So do I!
