I just finished installing Eibach Pro Kit springs on my 2008 328xi. I am very pleased with the ride quality and handling. Much better than stock. I took some before and after pictures but they are not the best. The drop is not outrageous but it is much lower than the stock ride height of an xi. Dropped the front wheel gap from about 2.9" to 1.25" and dropped the rear wheel gap from about 2" to 1". I will post better pictures soon.

Yupp stock shocks. Eventually I am going to get the Bilstein Sport shocks or the Koni Sport shocks. Haven't decided which one yet

I've heard mixed opinion on these but you said they don't change the ride quality for the worse? Because I'm not exactly rolling in cash and lowering sounds like I'd be a fan but I don't want to ruin quality/shocks.

The ride quality is not affected at all. Its pretty comfortable actually. The only downside is that is shortens the life of your shocks. All the researching I did still did not give me an answer as to how long they will last. It is different for every car. If you are on a budget I recommend lowering springs, and once your shocks wear out just buy a sportier aftermarket shock which should not be too expensive (depending on which shocks you buy).

Besides springs did you change out any other parts, such as bumpstops? A lot of people say to change them to shorter ones but my installer is saying I should keep my stock ones ?

you have to either get shorter ones (m3) or cut them.
The Eibach box came with instructions stating which ones to cut. I think its just fronts.

I've read many threads (http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=814809, http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=836365 and http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=699650). Now I understand 1) what are bump stops and 2) why we need to change (or cut) them when installing lowered springs. I will buy the following bump stops:
