Ok I'll bite, what's PRSS? Some sort of automatic in-car juice maker?
Yep, the consensus is those darn holes/covers come standard, iirc from earlier posts/threads.

Ahh rear shades....no big loss, you're gonna tint anyways. knowing you, you won't stop obsessing over the holes/covers now...... Just wait for the M-tech front bumper then. Did you check out Trendix's new GB. $860 for replica E90 M front and rear, painted and shipped with all hardware

Im not doing anything aftermarket on this car. Im going strictly OEM. The Mtech is nice, but I would only replace it if this car were in an accident... The mtech rear is quite nice... |

ok... I did the chrome tips already on the exhaust, but that is a necessity...
I might do fogs later on, but not right now. I should be swapping for 335 coupe lower bumper trim, but Im not out any money (other than shipping) for those... |

This weather sucks. They still haven't plowed our streets, and I just took the E90 out for a spin because we might have to head to the hospital for our sick 6 month old. I wanted to make sure I could make it. Even with the winter tires, driving through our neighborhood was a huge pain, so icy and the front of my car was plowing snow the whole time because this car sits so (relatively) low.
Also, I live on a bit of a hill. Getting out was easy, but getting back up the hill I live on was a chore. I got stuck, had to walk up and get a shovel, then dig my back tires out and try again. I basically made it back up the hill at a crawl, but at least I made it. Now I don't want to go out again until the street is plowed. A word to the wise, in snow, turn traction control to DTC only to get moving, then turn full traction control back on. The reason I got stuck was because I had it on DTC the whole time. As I said, even with actual snow tires (not all seasons), the wheelspin was really, really bad. Even with traction control on, it was not easy. On the plus side, once I got out of my neighborhood, the streets are perfectly fine. I see snow plows going over them every hour or so, even though there is absolutely no snow on them. Why can't they turn into the f-ing neighborhood? It would take them less than 30 minutes to do our streets. We've called VDOT and told them we have a sick infant, so maybe that will get them off their butts. Overall, I give the snow tires a 6 or 7 out of 10 in this wet, icy snow. But given the conditions, they did as good as I could hope. I'd bet the summer tires would be about a negative five on the same scale.

BK,
So you had a snow day.... Hope your baby gets well soon. On the car, usually I leave things on DSC full, it works best for me. Had an interesting commute this morning but pretty much the car peformed as expected, crappy all-seasons and all. There were some wiggles getting off the line and cornering. I had a few ABS moments as well (the pulses shoots back like a machine gun)/ Encountered pretty much a variety of surface conditions. I tried DTC on once. One thing I noted though. The front mud flaps really aren't that effective. Studying the spray/gunk patterns on the car's flanks, only a 2 inch by 2 inch triangular area is cleaner than the rest

Btw, is it alright to be plowing through the snow. I haven't checked mine, but wouldn't the snow scratch the lower/under side of the front bumper? I did some plowing (3 inch accumulation) this morning as I needed to get into my office's basement garage (unplowed ramp).

On ice, its still really hard even with winter tires. I went out just to turn my car around in the spot so it faces out (backing in) and I ended up having to drive around the block because I created a traffic jam on my street.
I end up stopping on a completely flat but ice covered street to let someone out of their parking spot. I ended up having to rock my car out of a stanstill . Im still riding on summer tires. I realize this is not a smart idea, but thats why I have not driven my car other than coming home from work yesterday and turning it around today. Eventually Im going to sping for some good all seasons. That will end up being for next winter though. Right now, Im going to limp around on these for the snows we end up getting. But I guess for ice, theres not much you can do. By the way... Why is it that VDOT always waits until late to sand the roads? In NY, they did an amazing job (in comparison) for clearing roads. The storm we had today would have been a 2 hour delay in NY. Here its 2.5 days off... Not that im really complaining... |

I checked the front lip and it looks fine on my car, thankfully. I was thinking the same thing.
The worst part was when I went back into my neighborhood -- the transition from a plowed street to the unplowed street had a bank of snow I had to blast through. Also, clearing off the snow initially was bad, too. The snow came off in big sheets of ice, and I bet it left some minor scratches on the black car. Oh well, shim will have his work cut out for him in March. EDIT - just saw AJ's post. Made me LOL because I could see you causing the traffic jam with your summer tires. I agree on the sand issue. Back in Colorado, they don't bother salting (at least, they didn't when I lived there), but they dump a ton of sand on the roads. Works well.

Great - I go back to work tomorrow (after 35 days off) and will hope the summers will be okay. I walked to the mall today, and the roads were only wet, not slick. (Prior to the evening's cold temps, of course).

My winters seem to be performing pretty well. Haven't had a problem yet getting up hills and inclines, although I haven't tackled a sheet of ice yet. But slush and snow hasn't been a problem. And yes, it was a bitch cleaning my driveway today. I just turned it into a workout session since I'm stuck at home. |

I have heard the main roads (atleast around here) are completely dry. Its just the backroads that are not clear and are still icy. I find it funny that I will end up having tomorrow off from work as well...

Yeah, main roads are surprisingly clear. The neighborhood side roads still got a lot of crap on them. Of course, snow is melting right now ... and will soon turn to ice once the evening comes. Will make for a fun commute tomorrow for people.
