Top speed for various configurations?

What are the top speeds for the various common configurations of these cars? I am thinking roads speed, not drag strip speed.

1) Stock
2) Reprogramming with stock components
3) Upgraded inter cooler, exhaust system, other easy bolt ons
4) Full tilt, new programming, turbos, exhaust, gearbox, etc.

Thanks.

140 must be the limiter for you, though I thought the limiters were 130 and 155 (non sport vs sport). 155 is easily accomplished completely stock in a sport model, that's the limiter. The gearing or aero limit for tuned cars without a limiter would be interesting

It is my understanding that the RennTech tune eliminates the speed limiter, or so I thought.

I have yet to see if my msport's 155 limit was removed by last tune. The forbidden one says he would do it for me.

We had our D Sport up to 130 MPH on GPS last weekend not even breathing hard stock. The limit with sport package stock is 155, easily attained. The D feels a bit stronger than our e39 540i. It will be interesting to see everyone's numbers modded without the speed limiter.

There is lots of *early* 335D writing about it being the fastest road legal diesel car ever. 200 mph should be possible in reprogrammed form with just a new exhaust.

These cars should be good for 200 mph in modified form. Heck my Chevelle was good for the upper 190s in 1964.

As I pass 100 days with the car in the shop, I think more about the alphabet soup delete and reprogramming.

If I remember correctly 180 is about the max on stock redline in 6th gear. I don't recall where that info came from though.

If someone knows the trans and carrier ratios we can apply the tire size and figure it out. Or.. what's the RPM at a given speed?

Nope. I ran out of an empty stretch of the freeway and hit traffic.

According to these stats, theoretical top speed is 186 (5000rpm x 37.2mph per k rpm)

According to this UK poster, it's 195

So, if the redline is actually 5000 (I thought the fuel cut was actually something like 4750, but ill use 5000 here) the gearing limited top speed is:

with 275/35 18s -196 MPH
with 255/35 18s - 192 MPH

with 275/35 at 4750 - 186 MPH

True GPS speed or Bimmer (keep me out of trouble) speed? I believe our cars are usually off +7% or so.

That's true speed. If its actually a 5000 rpm limit, bimmer speed would put it over 200 haha
