2008 335i w/Procede...Shuts off at 140...

Car drives normal and pulls great up until 140 mph where it simply shuts off... This is making me very concerned.

Mods:
Procede rev 3 V5, 50/50 e85 map stage 1

car is running good with fuel trims in the 20% max range and pulling no timing. I'm trying to figure this out, any help would be awesome.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by shut off? Like engine quits? All electrical systems die? Or just half engine and reduced power? Any codes? do you have your speed delimiter off?

Sounds like you're hitting the speed limiter. Did you make sure to turn it off?

Litterally car just shuts off, I have to put it in neutral (6at) and push the button for it to come back on. I have the "speed demlimiter" setting in procede set to "1" which i think is on aka allowing the car to go over the max speed. My car did come with a factory increase speed limiter, could this be affecting it?

Just the engine dies, i get a CEL shortly after restarting it, then it goes away and no codes are found using procede data log for can codes.
I hope its something simple. I just got done tuning my maps for the cold weather, they were runing super lean now afr's are in the 14-12 range all the way through. I also forgot to note that I did the alpina flash to my tcu.

There is no mechanism that would (or even could) turn off the engine as far as the procede goes. Even if you unplugged the Procede at 140mph, the engine would not turn off. Also, I'm not really sure what tuning changes you made, but I would question your monitoring device if it was saying you were running lean with the base settings. The DME runs closed loop under boost. The only way it would run lean if it was maxing out fuel trims which is certainly possible that you are running an e85 mix presumably with the stock LPFP?

First thing I would do is turn off CANclear so codes don't get deleted by accident. Then replicate the issue again SAFELY and see what codes are triggered.

Could be this new recall on the power cable maybe? I don't see how but that's what happens to the car it just shuts off.

That matches symptoms, but I haven’t heard anything about it being related to a specific speed, let alone 140 on the nose. This is frankly bizarre. I’ve never heard of an N54 just shutting down repeatedly at a specific speed, with no other obvious faults. It’s extremely unlikely that Procede is causing these issues..

Edit: OP I’m not sure if this has anything to do with your motor just calling it a day at 140, but with a 50/50 E85 mix, you could well be running out of fuel trim. You should really consider upgrading the lpfp if you want to continue running a fairly strong ethanol mix like that, the OE system won’t be able to keep up. Lean is fast until something goes kaboom.

I'm using the procede data logs to log afr, trims are maxed out on base tune, even with dropping the boost to 10% and increaseing base OL setting to 90% on map 1. The lean condition only really happens upon boost onset, shoots to 17-19 afr, usually settles down by redline. I tuned the ol map so its pretty stable, no large spike. I have tried using the ots map and same thing happens. Should I ignore the spike? I think I'm going to run my tank out and go back to straight 93 to rule out fueling as the issue, unless anyone has any ideas.

I thought so to but I watched voltage on my radar dector, not at 140, and its steady 14.8 all day...

Smart. Log and see how trims+AFRs look, then you can start ruling things out with confidence.

Could it just be the cold weather we are having here in WI? Temps in the low 40's...pushing the lpfp too hard?

I suppose, but 50% E85 is pretty aggressive if you don’t have an upgraded fueling system. Like you said, get a tank of straight 93 pump and see how things are looking. Too much guess work to start drawing conclusions as of now.
