E92 Windscreen Sensor Question

Hi guys,

First post here after reading for many months.

I hope someone can help as I reluctantly had a windscreen replacement yesterday on my year old E92. I'm a bit concerned about the windscreen wiper/headlight sensor as it has been refitted (the guy seemed to struggle with it). It seems a bit movable now and creaks etc....I'm not sure if this was always the case as I never really took much notice of it, until I saw the problems he was having getting it all back together.

There are other 'minor' issues about the rubber trim not being a good fit around the screen, but it's the sensor not being "rock solid" that worries me at the moment BTW, The lights and wipers sensing seems to work ok.

Grateful for your thoughts on this.

If it has the BMW stamp on it in the corner then i'd sugest that they've not refitted the senor correctly.
Ask them to remove an refit the sensor, or take it to your local dealer and get them to check it and remove and refit if needed.

I've been out in my car and checked the sensor and mirror assy, solid and firm, not play/movement.

Apart from the wobble issue I'd say you've done well to get an OEM screen through your insurance.

Most screens are 'own' brands.

Thanks for checking NN, I think you're right, I'll pop into the dealer on my way home before the national guy is due to visit. I'd rather the dealer checked it and sorted it, if needed.

Indeed, but I did have to insist on it, they very were keen to fit a pattern part one

Not really, if you request a genuine screen then they have to give you it.

I had 4 genuine screen in 1.5 years on my MK5 Golf.

I'll be having on in my E92 soon, it's it's been repaired badly by a monkey and looks w@nk.
I was going to try and improve upon it, but, on my way to County Durham i collected another two !
