This may seem like a dumb question.

BUT i really want to put cross drilled rotors on my 09 335i coupe but im going just for the look of the rotors not looking for improved braking. Also have the 7 year warrenty which includes free brake pads so i dont want to void that.. Is this possible? Or am i asking for too much? Im sure there have been post on this but i couldnt find anything sorry for the repost (if it is?)

Thanks

I want the same but going to wait till I need brakes. But you won't invalidate the brake warranty so I wouldn't worry.

your car is still under warranty, so why wouldn't you go through BMW to get new brakes? It shouldn't cost you anything.

The dealer will probly not change your brake pads if you put the cross drilled rotors on under the maintenance warranty.

But if you have your maintenance warranty why would you not go to BMW to get your brakes done? Unless you feel like spending money to get them done by a private shop. Your paid all that money for your car to have the 4yrs/50k miles maintenance warranty why not have the bmw dealer change your brakes.

He probably wants to upgrade to a pad that stops the car a lot better. We, and Cool Carbon have heard this question a lot. Guys under warranty ares till replacing stock pads with new and upgrade Cool Carbon pads to increase their stopping power

You can always call the dealership and ask. Or you can upgrade to the BMW Performance brakes. They have crossdrilled rotors and aren't nearly as expensive as other BBKs. It might me more than you want to spend, but you can always save up. I'm not the biggest fan of crossdrilling. It can lead to warping and cracking even under normal day to day use.

As long as you don't buy the cheapest rotors you can find, you'll be okay. It wouldn't surprise me if BMW decided not to give you brake pads under warranty because you're running aftermarket rotors. With that said, brake pads aren't that expensive, and you'd have to run through quite a few sets to make up for the cost difference of the BMW Performance brakes that are legitimately smaller than the OEMs for the 335i
