dropped tool into engine bay, safe to drive>
So I dropped a hexagon tool into the engine bay and it's in the undercarriage shield. I don't have a car jack or ramps or anything to lift my car up to take the shield out....will it be safe to drive around in my car until I am able to get it out? What's the dangers like will I be ok to drive on the freeway? Thanks

Get a strong magnet and from under the car, drag the tool to an opening or a place where you can see it and grab it.

I dunno, I did the same with a c-clip when doing my SSK, tried to find it FOREVER with a magnetic pick-up tool but eventually gave up. I'm sure it fell out at some point. I wouldn't worry dude.

If you dont hear it while driving I would just forget about it. Eventually it will fall out if it has not already....atleast that happened to the socket I lost in my altima's engine bay.

old 2001 toyota highlander, the dealer left a Dewalt cordless drill in the engine compartment on top of the headers. (V6, Horizontal opposed) the drill was almost melted through. The battery was to the metal. The drill still worked though.
Toyota called us up like uhh is their a drill under your hood? |

Only concern I see is if the tool gets trapped in the wheels while moving. Otherwise, I don't think any other parts that move physically, are exposed.

I think you should try to find it. Imagine if you were driving the road someone kicked up a socket it cracked your windshield. You'd be pretty upset.

You'll be fine. And to the guy who said its 5-8 screws to take out. If I remember correctly its like 10-12 screws minimum.
