E90 LCI Rear indicator warning

Im getting a left rear indicator bulb failure warning on my E90 LCI, I noticed these seem to be LCD type indicators, and they still appear to work even with the faut message.

Has anyone else had this before, and is it likely to turn into an expensive problem for me?

They are really common on the LCI E90s.
The whole light needs to be replace.
Do you have warranty on the car?

No, warranty ran out about 4 months ago. Im sure the dealers will charge a fortune for one of these, where else should i search for a new one?

If it's just the single piece, left side, on the quarter panel, I can get you a replacement for $207.65 inc GST.. 2 week lead time.

Cheers,

There was a recall on these. My 2009 E90 LCI had the right indicator failed. Took it to dealer (under warranty) and both tail light units were replaced. I believe it was a service advisory and hopefully will cost you nothing, even if you're out of warranty.

Thanks for the heads up on that bulletin, I have it booked in for a service in a week and will talk to the dealer about it, wont get them to repalce it if its going to cost me though as I can do it easily myself.

Just an update, had the car serviced by the dealer today and they replaced the indicator under warranty so it seems all is ok now.

Cheers
