So, I installed the alarm on Tuesday night. EXTREMELY simple for you guys contemplating this install yourself. Just follow the DIY instructions.

I cant open the trunk without pulling the key out of the FOB.

Question: The trunk wont open with the button on the key fob or the button inside the cabin. Is this a part of the activation process at the dealer?

If i hold the trunk release button it does nothing....

I searched other posts but couldn't find any related information.

Nahh your valet is probably on. Check the switch in the glove compartment.

going to the car to check that now. I dont remember switching it on.

Thanks bro, That was the problem. I must have moved the switch when i replace the flash light in the glove box after installation...

I have to take it in to get activated one day. lol!

It works OK for now without the chirp for locking and unlocking.

Cool. Glad you got it sorted out. I blew my cigg lighter fuse trying to use a power inverter in my car. I had music going and that cut out too. I thought I blew my whole electrical system. Replaced a fuse and it was all good. Thank god for fuses!
