Nav noob question

I have the 2011 nav and I wanted to know if in 3d mode, are you suppose to see buildings such as high rises in 3d? If so then I don't see it. I also send my self directions from google maps to my car and it worked for the first time but it has not worked since then, I called BMW assist and they were useless.

It works for me, I think it depends on the maps.

I think to show buildings it needs to have the google earth downloaded background and that only is at 1 mile or longer in which case the buildings would probably be too small to really see. I have 2011 Navigation and I don't see buildings in perspective in < 1 mile (would have to check how visible in >1)
Sending a google map to Navigation works fine for me.
