Wanted one, but sold out as you know.
Will buy one as soon as I can. The main problem now is that there will be a white one coming along - I quite fancy that but I'm not sure what I'll do if the next available stock is black. Do I wait, or just make the purchase? Decisions Decisions. It'll probably sell out before I get a chance to buy either though!

The only thing that could possibly take up 16GB on a phone is music, surely? With Google Music now available in the UK, I now have my entire library of about 4000 tracks uploaded to their servers, and available to instantly stream on my phone. Not a single mp3 on my phone any more. All my photos are on Photobucket. The very few documents I want access to on my phone I have stored on Google Drive, so again available to access whenever I need. The only thing that will take up memory now is downloaded apps, and they're only a few MB each. I genuinely don't see why anyone would need more than the 8GB of storage on the cheaper phone. Yes, I will be buying a Nexus 4 as soon as they're back in stock. And a Nexus 10 tablet is on my Christmas list.

I have a data limit of 750MB so even though my music is in the cloud I can't play it from there when I'm out and about.
In an ideal world, the phone would have 32GB which would store the majority of my tracks. In Reality, I probably only listen to a fraction of the songs I have so I can cope with 16GB. FYI, regarding photos, if you want to keep everything Google, download Google's Picasa App on the PC. Not only is it a fairly good basic photo editor and viewer, it will auto sync all of your snaps to Google+ and Picasa web which then allows you to view them like they are on the phone via the photo app ( in the same was as with the music).

@parapaul - it sounds fantastic that you have migrated your life to the cloud. Call me old-fashioned, but I am not quite ready for that. Have seen too many black spots (London tube?) for me to have the confidence that the cloud will be available on my phone whenever. And I do know that you can specify to make music tracks (and other data) available offline, but that needs me to (i) either specify in advance what music I want to be available offline or (ii) have enough storage in my phone, which makes the whole thing moot. I like to have my entire collection of ~50GB available to hand, so I can listen to whatever I want whenever I want.
If the cloud was the only option in this world, I might be able to live with these compromises. But why bother when the nexus 4 is not the only party in town? |

Fair point - I've never had any need to access anything that desperately when in a dead spot but I accept that others may well do. Likewise, if I'm going somewhere that I know has no WiFi, I'm happy to pin a couple of albums or a playlist to my phone for listening offline.
Each to their own

If it's anything like the little Nexus 7 tablet I just got for the missus, I would have one in a heartbeat.
But... My Company won't have anything 'Android' on the network (iPhone and BB okay) due to security concerns.
