I'm not a particular fan of diesels, but trucks can be sporty!

This is very slightly tail pipe-related, Paul!

A bit of info about that 'Shockwave' truck:

Performance you ask? The ShockWave Jet Truck runs over 300 mph racing airplanes at airshows; holds the world record in a quarter mile for trucks at 256 mph in just 6.36 seconds; and holds the world record for full size trucks at 376 mph as recorded by Guinness Book of World Records. At 36,000 horsepower, the ShockWave has enough power to accelerate at 3 Gs vertical, which is as much as the Space Shuttle!

Engines: 3 Pratt & Whitney J34-48
Hp: 36,000 @ Speed of Sound
Thrust: 18,000 (units?)
Weight: 7.000 lbs
Fuel: DIESEL, 120 gals. per run
Value: $500,000.00

Quicktime movie of Shockwave in action!

Paul- it's big, it's fast, it's expensive, it's a complete waste of fuel & ....it's American.

So...I don't think it's 'creaminess' would be of importance to our transatlantc friends!

I think the 'Applie Pie 3' meet should have the Shockwave truck as a mobile bbq!

I do miss the extra BHP of a 330, but to be honest, going up and down the motorway most of the time, I don't miss it to much.
Have to say, I can understand that - my E46 was a 320d and my E90 is a 330d, and most of time the extra power goes unused. Mind you I think I get about the same fuel consumption as I had to drive the 320d harder.

And the sound is so good!

Hey, my exhaust is in!!! I will call in tomorrow morning and take some pictures.

If I'm to stupid to post them, can I email them to someone else to do it?

I hope it's "smooth and creamy!"

I finally got to see the exhaust today, but forgot my camera! sorry guys!
What I can tell you though is it looks awsome!
I am hoping to get it fitted asap but I'm just awaiting a few extra parts e.g. the chrome tail pipe wasn't sent and I need 2 extra exhaust hanging brackets fitting to hang the back box on.
I also need to replace the middle section of my exhaust. Shouldn't be to expensive as it's just a length of pipe.
The exhaust tail/exit pipe is approx. 6inches wide by 2 inches high. It also has rounded edges.
The exhaust looks nothing like the one in the E90 accessory brochure.
It should fill the cut-out in the valance really well.

Forgot to mention, if you do not want to go to the lengths of the earth that I have to replace the awful exhaust pipe, I also found out today that the back box of the 320d with a particule filter will fit the 320d without!
So, for a lot less money you could replace your pointing down exhaust with a straight out exhaust, including a chrome trim!
Also, there are no MOT implications as confirmed by BMW today.

The E90 accessory brochure has the "Sport exhaust" on page 15. It was made for the 4 cylinder diesel model only.
The exhaust I looked at today looks nothing like the one in the brochure.
That picture looks like the exhaust from a 320d with particule filter + chrome finisher.
The Sport exhaust has only just been released by BMW marketing and in the brochure it still states "£tbc".
It's not cheap. Retail it's £657.00p inc vat + fitting (£50 I was quoted to fit it).
I have been chasing this exhaust for weeks and it only arrived from Germany yesterday. I still have to wait for the chrome finisher to arrive before I can have it fitted + I have to have the extra hangers fitted etc.

I will do some more homework on the 320d particule exhaust tomorrow and hopefully get the part numbers needed to change exhausts.

I'm still awaiting the exhaust chrome trim!?
The whole exhaust thing as been a total nightmare!
Because it's so new and just been released, I'm having real problems getting all the bits together so I can have it fitted.
The total price seems to be rising by the day aswell as I find out I need more bits to have the Sport box fitted.
I'm really considering just going for the particule filter back box. It's cheaper and available now.
It also looks a dam site better than the exhaust I have now aswell!!
I have all the part numbers needed for the back box, so if anyone else is interested, just let me know.
