Fuel filler cap

I have lost my fuel filler cap, must have left it at the pump (the retaining cord broke months ago).

I have an E93, most I see on Ebay are older models, does anyone know if these will fit?

Or will a cheap universal one from the petrol station do just as good a job?

Thanks.

This one should be ok for your car:

I wouldn't fit a universal as the fuel system/pressures/vacuum/return etc are complicated and sensitive and a non-OEM cap could muck things up.

Why not just get a new one from the dealer?

You'd be surprised, I think I paid like £18 for mine from the dealer. Mine was slightly cracked and the retaining wire was broken. And it's like 30 seconds to swap over.

I've ordered the one linked to above.

Cheers for the info.

Dealers are not always more, people are just put off and think ebay is a deal. My CCC dvd drive was broken, cheapest place was a dealer. £80. Ebay was well over £100 at the time.

He's been driving without one until now, not sure a non oem one would make any difference if driving without one hasn't caused any?
