What are you doing about snow tires on the 335?

My car is coming in Dec., and in my head I thought I'd just go to the Tire Rack's website and price out a snow tire / rim package. Nope...no rims. Does that have to do with the monitoring system? So what is everyone doing who lives where there's snow? Me, I just hate to have a changeover when the car is literally brand new....

I am wondering the same thing. I did find some non-RTFs that would fit on the stock rims. Is that combo a bad idea? Are most of you getting new, cheap rims for winter too?

Any OEM 17" E90 alloy wheel ( for example style 158) will fit the E92/335i. If you look at some of the early spy shots of E92s being winter tested, you will see the cars with style 158s. The monitoring system works with either 17" or 18" wheels.
The Dunlop Winter Sport M3 DSST is the top rated run flat winter tire according to Tirerack.com . It's available in 225/45 X 17" size suitable for either E90 or E92.

good topic....i'm getting the 19" sports package with the staggered setup and i'm thinking of just putting on winter Pirelli tires (non-RFT I think per Tirerack).

I know that the smaller rims will be better for the winter, but we don't get much deep snow in DC and when/if we do, I probably won't drive much in it (plus I have an X5).

Although, if I can find a good cheap winter setup I may consider it, so post whatever you think is a good deal.

I am thinking about using oem 18" sport rims with 225 40 18 winter tires. Haven't decided between the blizzak and dunlop 3D. I will be getting 19" set for summer.

That is my plan too. Need to sell the OEM tires, and find a good source for 19" style 230 rims.
