The easiest way to ditch unwanted weight from the 3er is to ditch the sunroof (-35lbs), all the seats and trunk lining (-200lbs) and replace the brakes with race brakes (-30lbs). You will need to put back in 2 race seats, race harness and and at the very least a half cage (+80lbs). Voila you got about 200lbs. You sure you really want to do all that to save 200lbs?

You may want to just replace your brakes for a nice BBK, get a race seat with 6 pt harness and 4 point loop to secure your belts for starters.
Ken I would just consider upgrading some parts that will yield better performance either by weight savings or better performance. BBK kit, suspension, extra power from the N54, exhaust, etc... The 335 is very capable and you will retain its everyday driveability.

Look at it this way you probably have a 100lbs advantage over me in body weight alone

Agreed Nick,

Yes our weight are not far off, the handling is though....

I know one of the limiting factors is the nut behind the wheel, which I will work on a little more this year. So by the end of the season, I'll have a better idea what the car can do, if there is any hope to run reliably with it, and be relatively fun and quick!

Oh, Joel, if you haven't modded your shaver, your coffee maker and lawn mower, there might just be a tad of hope to cure this modding disease
Mr Seb will be one of the CADL instructors that weekend, so I couldn't pass it up. I've driven with the man a few times (a treat all by itself) so I will be tuned in - in 'sponge mode' hoping to learn new stuff. Primarily grid, pass under breaking and drafting pass. Anything else my little brain picks up will be a bonus.

i insist that my car is a street car....

I am sure if you repeat this enough we'll end up believing it, even a "regular" GT 3 is a track car, ha ha!

Battery - Lightweight Battery

http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...ah-480cca-36lb

This seems like a good alternative to the Braille lightweight battery. Significantly more cranking power (55 amps vs 31 amps) than the 21lbs Braille battery, with still a nearly 30 lbs reduction from stock (65lbs).

The regular mini cooper battery is 45 lbs I think, this seems like the 'lightweight' 35 lbs version.

Anybody has any idea where I can get this in Canada. Dealership?

Thanks
