Thankfully not my wheels but I've just been outside with a neighbour and her e92 wheels have been stolen last night. Car was left on some foam blocks. Seems like a pro job since she has a 2012 e92 with locking nuts. All nuts including the security nut were left intact on the drive. Happened on the drive next to me so am hoping my wheels will be safe. Happened in Northwood hills Pinner West London.
Just a heads up on this seriously effed up sht going on.

Hope you are not implying that she will be putting more effort and resource into finding the thief than if it was the general public that had their wheels nicked......;-)

I don't know but maybe the fact she had 3 cop cars round hers which probably I wouldn't have had if they were my wheels?

A similar thing happened to our friend's M3. He just had all four refurbed, and the night after, the car was sitting on bricks. All four wheels had locking wheel bolts...

The locking bolts (BMW doesn't use nuts) fitted at the factory are trivial to remove. There's only a dozen variations or so.

The first thing I purchased for my BMW was a set of the optional security bolts. Expensive (about £50) but cheaper than new wheels and tyres).

The way I see it there's no point losing sleep over it. Locking wheel nuts will put off your average thief but if there good they're going to get them anyway. Just one of those things.

Expensive and easy to take with the right tools unfortuntely

Dang! Didn't even think about the tyres. That sucks.

The excess on my insurance is high. I'd have to be buying the wheels and tyres.

Few years ago in South Africa, I came back to my parked car to find that someone had stolen a wheel. Few days later I got a call from the police to tell me that they'd recovered my wheel and that the halfwit who stole it had been sentenced by the local magistrate to 8 cuts with a light cane. Ouch!

Bet he though about it before he stole another wheel
