Help with i-pod static please!

I have a E90, no idrive for a year. I've been using my ipod w\belkin adapter no issues.

My buddy picked up a E90 w\i drive but when he plugs in his idrive there's static. Its not the cables, ipod, or volume settings as we swapped all components between the 2 cars. Everything works perfect in my car, he gets static in his.

Are there any known issues? The big difference in our cars is his has idrive, mine does not.

Please provide suggestions, he's got his new ride and super bummed since he cant use his ipod.

I thought about going to the stealer, but didnt think they would help much so thougth to try the board first.

I dont think its the cable. I tried a brand new cable in my car (worked fine) but then got static in the i-drive bimmer.

Come on, anybody else?

Try cleaning out the Aux jack. Maybe some dust got in there during production. Blow some compressed air in there and see if clears up.

Good suggestion, I'll give that a shot.
