Anyone else having order problems?

Ordered E90 335i on the 28th Dec - still no confirmed delivery date.

Spoke to dealer this morning and was told that for some reason BMW had changed the order code of sport suspension (from 226 to 7??) and this has cocked up the order with Bracknell!

Was told probably mid March at the earliest for delivery

Anyone else having problems?
Don't suppose this is to do with the model update? (new nav buttons etc)

i might be able to help...

i picked up a 'showroom' e90 335i m sport last friday, i wanted to order my own specd car but was told i would have to wait to at least late may, so i ended up taking the 335i in the showroom (i couldn't wait that long)

i was told this is due to bmw apparently falling behind on coupe production and therefore all 335i engines going to E90 / E91's that have not already received a production slot are to be used in order to help catch up on the coupe convertible production. E90 335i's are going to be rare over the next few monthes!

I was told this by 3 dealers in kent, so i imagine theres some truth to it....

my advice... hunt for a pre-spec'd car with an definate order slot, or try and find a 'showroom' car, i manged to get a nearly list £41k car for £34k because it was a 'showroom' car. it only had 17 miles on it though!

Good luck.

Thats very interesting. At least I will have a RARE car when it turns up!!

The only positive is that it may have all the latest updates - buttons on sat mav etc.

Just spoken to dealer and he confirmed that production would START in week 10!!!
Also he confirmed that mine would be one of the first to have new Sat Nav Buttons etc.

So good news is that I get new version of E90, bad news is that I've got a 2 month wait!!!

Even more readimg of the manual, changing PC desktop pictures etc....

Its a nightmare being a 1 car family!

I think there is a traffic jam in Monaco plant: I've placed an order for a e92 330xd on dec 28th and only four weeks after the dealer was able to confirm the production week (scheduled week 10 ), so I'm thinking that the problem could not be the engine installed on e90 but...

No apparently you can assign them to individual idrive commands.

I imagine they will be pretty difficult to retrofit.

To be honest I think it's a response to the fact that a lot of people complain about idrive.

However, if you get the voice control cracked (which means you learn to wait for the icon as I finally realised only last week) and you get used to the push and hold for the 'last view' then you don't really need this.

I ordered on the 20th November 2006 via my Fleet manager and was scheduled for build early Jan 07. My car arrived at the dealership on the 18th Jan 2007. However I also had to encounter the factory shutdown over Christmas (15th Dec 2006 until the 5th Jan 2007) so not too bad after all. The March delivery bit has been imposed by my Fleet manager in order to pick up the new 07 plate to maximise its resale value so I will have to wait

Maybe the factory shutdown and BMW playing catch-up has something to do with these delays?

People think you are mental when you started talking to the car unless you warn them.

Then if you warn them and it says 'im sorry I didn't understand' they think it's hilarious.

Sometimes you just can't win.

I would imagine that a retrofit would be possible if the two pre-March drives are housed within the same physical unit as it appears is the case within the picture needforspeed posted. But this could be quite an expensive endeavour requiring replacement of the drive unit(s) and probably also requires a software upgrade at owner's expense.
