another tyre question
would it make a significant if any change to the handling of the car if i changed my front tyres from 225/35/19 to 235/35/19. Im thinking of doing this so to give extra protection to the alloys. The rears by the way are 265/30/19 if that makes a difference.
anyone know ? thanks

CD what agood idea.
I have very slight damage to each front alloy and think that 235's on the front instead of my 225's would have prevented this. I'm not sure though if 235's would effect the handling etc and even if it's possible especially with Run Flats. Anyone tried this? PhilR |

Admit it Carl, you'd be complaining a whole lot less if you had a 'proper' set of brake discs in the first place.

Actually I think even your handling could be improved by doing this.
The stagger of the car is set to a certain optimum way. The recommendations on a 265 rear is definitely a 235 front. I'm surprised they even fitted the 225 ? Go for it.. No brainer. |

i had to get 2 new rear tyres today ( after 10,500 miles ... ooops ) anyway i checked if the size 235(rather than 225)/35/19 was available in conti's, which apparently it is, so the guy at the tyre place rang continental UK up to see if they would recomend that set up or not and asked would it affect the handling!? the answer was a definate 'Dont do it' , they said it would make the car unstable.
hmm , any more thoughts on this

Shame on the rears, should have gone 265 or 275, are the Kahns 9.5J on the rear? If you want a wider track look on the rear you could try a 10mm spacer, you're not running low, so rubbing should not be an issue.
