Q:

If you fit a NEW injector on one cylinder and DO NOT code it, I presume it will run okay(ish) - anyone actually tried?
I mean, if quite a few dealers seem to have done this in the past by accident/ignorance, then I presume its not such a big deal?
The reason I ask is I can do the spanner work, and run it to a dealer the next day or so so for another person to fix the software.

Just adding some more data values for general reference. Here is what I found:

injector values in computer:

injector 1: 57.7, 2.16
injector 2: 59.3, 2.31
injector 3: 58.1, 2.10
injector 4: 58.4, 2.08
injector 5: 58.4, 2.12
injector 6: 57.7, 2.23

actual values on injectors:

injector 1: 57.7, 2.18
injector 2: 59.3, 2.33
injector 3: 58.1, 2.11
injector 4: 58.4, 2.09
injector 5: 58.4, 2.13
injector 6: 57.7, 2.24

Not being the original owner of the car, I wasn't sure if any injectors had been replaced and the computer not updated. Looks like everything is in check.

Well that's good to know but also seems to kill the theory of bad injector coding leading to timing drops.

How much boost are you running these days?

About 14psi and my timing looks great. Starts the gear at about 8.5deg and ends around 11-12deg with no timing drops. Any more boost and I run into timing flatlining issues.

Don't injectors 'age' the settings?

I don't really have any insignt into the BMW computer to know for sure, but it sounds reasonable. That is why I did not attempt to change the values to match 100%. 0.01 is close enough for me.

those look ok. when i tried to change mine to be exactly like the actual values, it sets it back to the original computer value. unless i'm mistaken, they are adapted/rounded value.

When trying to accessing 'EOL Injector Rate Comparison' by pressing Shift F4, I got an error message:

SYS-0010: INITIALISATION ERROR!

How do I rectify it?
