Best/User friendly Coding tools?

I have spent money maintaining my E90 not understanding that I needed to code it after the labor was done.

Is INPA from Bimmergeeks the way to go?
Carly for BMW, is this product worth the money?
Is there a thread with Pros/Cons about these tools anyone can point me to?

Any help greatly appreciated, need to replace the battery ASAP.

What exactly do you wish to do?

Sounds to me like Carly will be perfect for you. It's a very comprehensive tool if you just wish to maintain your car.

INPA etc are factory level tools. You'll need to do a lot of reading before you understand it properly.

"Code it after labor was done".

That points to being able to do things that Carly cannot do.

Carly is good at modifying default behavior and recoding a new battery, but once you get into your own repairs it cannot help you.

You'll need to learn INPA and the other programs for repairs and replacement functions.

I think Carly is a waste of $$$. A K+DCAN cable plus all the available FREE software is the way to go. Using INPA and ncsexpert/dummy isn't very complicated. Lots of Youtube videos showing HOWTOs.

I would start with ISTA-D and ISTA-P.

Very user friendly once they are running. Maybe more tricky to get working from scratch than INPA but if you start with the coding VM then it's easy (http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1220039).
