N51 Ticking

So my bmw has some type of ticking noise.

When i accelerate it sounds like some type of chain noise.

At idle, the sound is something like this

Whenever i rev it, the sound gets louder the higher the rpm's

Any ideas?

Likely the camshaft ledge wear. I doubt it is the lifter problem ever.

There are 4 oem metal ring seals that cut into the ledge and send metal to Vanos solenoids while dropping oil pressure.

Each new plastic ring is about $7 on RM European. If you decide to check the ledge for wear.

Search for the BMW service bulletin or YouTube videos.
