If a poisonous snake bit itself, would it die ?

If a stupid person is alone and asks a stupid question, is it still a stupid question?

I would imagine snakes of the same species would be immune to their own venom. Most animals fight with each other (over females) and they would very likely have evolved immunity, otherwise mating death tolls would be too high; causing stresses on the population.
Having said this I believe the venom of black widow (and many other) spiders is equally deadly to males of their own species. She kills him off after he has done his deed and is no longer of any use. Same as preying mantis, she eats him after mating, thereby besides his sperm to fertilise her eggs, he also provides nutrition for their development.
