Last Day of Warranty

Today is my last day of warranty and free maintenance. I only have 28.5k miles. I took my car to the BMW dealer here in Fayetteville, NC earlier this week and had the SA go over it. I was ready to buy an extended maintenance contract but decided against it because I don't put that many miles on it. Luckily my car is CPO'd until 2015.

Did they charge you to go over it?

I'm in a similar situation as you. My warranty runs out tommorow, but still CPO until 2015. 21k on 2008.

No, I didn't get charged. The guy in charge of the service department also sat down with me in the car and showed me again how it do the systems check (non-Idrive). Computer says I won't need brakes for along time. 30,000 for back brakes and 55k for fronts. He said I could take my car to like sears for my brakes because most of the car service businesses get the parts from his dealership. I would just have to take it in and he'd clear the computer of any codes. Front and rear Brakes cost about $700.00 each. $1400 - 1500 total.
Batteries are expensive there.

CPO warranty on these cars are pretty good. The Lead SA explained what is covered and what BMW has extended as well. He told me the symptoms of HPFP, oil cooler and water pump failures. There is a $50.00 deductible for CPO work. The power window regulator is covered under CPO!

No charge?!?! Wow, that surprises me. I'm gonna give that a try when my warranty comes close to expiring.
