Suspension / tire experts, what should I do next?
thanks in advance for any thoughts here:
thinking about my next upgrade / mod to improve my car's handling. Car has 95k miles (plenty of hwy miles on good roads) and I recently upgraded to BMW Perf Suspension V1 and Meyle HD tension struts. I'll be replacing tires in less than 12 months from now. I don't track my car but do some spirited driving and enjoy the improvements from my recent upgrades. I plan to keep my '07 328i E90 as long as possible. From the ideas below, how would you prioritize in terms of bang for the buck? a. swap my front type 161 8" wheels for type 161 8.5" wheels (let's say I can execute this for $100) and then: i. Replace my Conti DW 225/255 staggered with Michelin PSS 245/40 squared for about $250 more than replacing with same Conti's. OR ii. Replace my Conti DW 225/255 staggered with Conti DW 255/40 squared for about $80 more than replacing with same Conti's. b. Do the M3 control arms for around $525 plus my labor (I'd be giving up on my nwe Meyle HD tension struts) c. Do M3 subframe bushings (about $310, including tool rental) or Powerflex subframe inserts, about $160, plus my labor d. Replace my front lower control arms (originals) with Lemforder OEM, about $150 plus my labor. e. Something you don't see here but would cost less than $500 and could be installed by a noob. |
