I actually wanted to ask this question myself, as I learned something about the 2006 model specifically. (I have an 06 325xi sport wagon)

My friend at the dealer looked up the PE exhaust using my VIN and it through up a flag

Since I had an early build date 09-09-2006 it said it may or may not fit....NO other info.

I have read on here people have issues with the AA muffler replacement due to the oval/squished exhaust tubing. I really want to know if the DINAN or BMW PE cat back will bolt up.

The AA is not a muffler. It is essentially a muffler delete with a resonator chamber in place of the muffler to control the drone.

I never said it was a muffler. I read all 24 pages of the AA thread. Like it and the price, but no way in hell I'm letting any of the exhaust shops around here touch it. Will likely fab up my own pipe if I go the AA route.

I'm still am waiting to here back from DINAN though so maybe a full cat back might still be an option.

Well you have an N51 which will require welding work. Mine was just direct clamp ons.

Yet my build sheet SAYS N52.

I can show you a picture if that would satisfy you.

I have an AA "muffler replacement" for N51/52 if you want it.

Does it muffle the sound? How is it on the drone?

From my knowledge, most 325i's are N51. If you have the N52, the AA axle-back should just be clamp-ons.
