the 1st one, the red circle is around Hojin, but you can see Traviata on the lower right. I zoomed in and saw it moored right by hyundia. By the time I captured the Hojin pic and then zoomed in again, it scooted out.

Yay! Thank you so much for helping us out, you rock! I hope the captain is nice and sober and doesn't scuttle the ship.

Traviata and Hojin have passed through Gatun Locks. I missed it on the web camera. They will now sail across Gatun Lake towards the Gaillard Cut. Sometimes these ships park in Gatun Lake for hours before continuing on into the Gaillard Cut. The usually reach the Centennial Bridge camera around noontime or early afternoon PST if they don't park in Gatun Lake for very long. So, Centennial Bridge will be the next camera to watch. Once they reach the Centennial Bridge camera, the Mira Flores camera is only about 30 minutes away. It will take these ships about two hours to get through the Mira Flores locks, so they will be in view of a camera for a long time.

Yep, I don't know why some of these ships park in Gatun Lake. She will eventually move on (they never stay the night), but it may mean that she will reach the MF locks when it is dark, which doesn't provide the very best viewing. But, the locks are lighted at night, so you will still be able to see her go through. We will just have to wait and see how long Traviata stays anchored in Gatun Lake.

Traviata is on the move, finally. I have a very crippled AIS and I can see she is moving, but this data could be several hours old. You will just have to watch the Centennial Bridge camera. Take a look at the first post on this thread again, so you can see what this ship looks like and you know what to look for on the web cam.

It's hard to tell if that's her or not due to the lighting... great job though!

Indeed, it looks like she's making her way up the left coast. I have been unable to find anything that says Traviata is stopping in San Diego or Long Beach...the WW page has her next port as Hueneme. Given that Hojin will be stopping at both of the SoCal ports, we may yet pass them up!

But, according to the PH schedule there are vehicle-carrying ships scheduled every day from Friday through Monday at PH. I can't remember exactly, but I don't think PH can accommodate two vehicle-carrying ships in port at the same time. I could be wrong, though. Maybe Prometheous or Oregon Hwy are not on schedule, which would allow Traviata to dock. Look at this schedule: http://www.portofhueneme.org/documen...0925143109.pdf It will be interesting to see if/how this schedule changes this week. |

Let's just say the schedule holds true and Traviata docks and unloads everything by EOD October 6th. That would give five days for the car to pass inspection and be transported 350 miles to my dealership, pass inspection there and get prepped for delivery. Hmm... the way it looks, there's very little chance I'll be getting the car October 11th. Oh well, looks like I'll set my sights on October 18th.

It is possible for you to get your car on the 11th. I once saw a car (Mercedes) come off the ship on a Saturday and it arrived in San Fran at the dealership three days later on Tuesday. I once saw a car (BMW) be delivered to Seattle in four days. Conversely, I remember a guy who lived inland in central CA and it took something like two weeks+ for him to get his car (I think I gave up after two weeks of watching with him on that thread). His dealership was is "Podunk" CA, so it took forever for the VPC to fill the truck. It was a painful wait for him, as guys in SF and Seattle were getting their cars within a week, but because he lived in Podunk, he had to wait weeks. They can really move fast if they want to. If your car is going to a high-volume dealer, that betters your chances of getting the car sooner, because they can fill the truck faster and get it on the road. Euro deliveries will oftentimes take a long time, because of customs inspections. There are lots of variables. |
