He's a senior in HS! At his age my English spelling and grammar were better than his -- I migrated to the States at the age of 19 (15 years ago)...

wow.... I'm glad to see there are still people around here who can complete a coherent sentence!

That was my main argument before the other thread got closed; not so much about having to be super educated to own a BMW, but rather how someone can go on typing and mispelling words consistently. I was absolutely floored to read that he immigrated to NA when he was 8. What does that say for the education system that he progressed through; well into his final year of high school he can barely spell or stream ideas together in flowing sentences.

This forum is not an English AP class as you say, but its also not a code breaking class either. It's one thing to use internet shorthand (ie: LOL, IMHO)... but WTF? If you actually talked like you typed, having a conversation with you would be the most mind numbing experience ever.
