I thought that blow off valves for the 335i wouldn't help all that much? Am I wrong?

Misinformation...
Yes is makes the blow off sound. Yes the stock diverter valves currently hold the boost we are pushing. But they will leak if you have tuned your car up to 1.0 bar over an extended period of time. They were originally designed to deal with 7-8 psi which is basically 0.5 bar. What these devices do is eliminate(hopefully) compressor surge. Which is something that can instantly damage your turbos. BOV's blow into the environment. DVs recirculate the air back into the system, the amount of air the DVs recirculate is like a grain of sand on the beach but I guess in some peoples mind it is better than none at all. |

VIP Tuning has a complete BOV kit, charge pipes, and intake altogether...I'm sure he can give you a package price on it all, or he can just do the BOV for you.

PM's sent!
I don't know if you've seen the AA BOV in person, but the quality of the piece is OUTSTANDING! Looks like an OEM piece and the flanges are all perfectly machined. You guys wil love it! - Andy |

I guess you are referring to an open wastegate? I had one on my last car and its just a loud, mean, exhaust grunt... not much of a whoosh there.
If you want just a whoosh sound with no whistle then a Tial BOV is probably your best bet. I have an AA BOV on my car and it has a nice woosh to it with a little tiny bit of a whistle sound, but nothing like HKS (which I hate the sound of BTW).

I love the sound of a wastegate for some reason.
it has that PSSSTTTTT sound ha with a lot of boost they are mean. My brothers truck which pushes 45psi of boost it sounds mean.

Ahhh... I see what you are saying now. Yes, you are right there is a really loud spool sound to the exhaust note with open wastegates. When you said whoosh, I was thinking of a BOV sound... my mistake. I'm assuming that your bro has a turbo diesel?
