I can tell you the axle flanges are much larger diameter on the m6 and the input shafts are longer on the m6 (in order to engage the center section of the diff) so you can't just swap those..I just started using realoem.com in an effort to cross reference parts..I just don't have a ton of free time

That would be nice if it is true! M3 diff like someone earlier said is the only diff I've heard of that can be made to work by swapping pumpkins.

Why would you go through all the trouble of getting custom parts made to put M6 diff only to end up with a viscous diff with the wrong gearing?
Even if I was given the M6 diff for free, I would not go that route...

Better off welding your stocker.
But there was a thread awhile back where people were talking about this swap. Quick search yielded this... http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=813242 |

Thx. Still don't say anyone did it... And the ones that bought a m6/m5 diff still working on the mods. Thx for the intel. I may just wait a lil longer and get the quaefe .. But I'm so tired of loosing traction up to 70mph.. Grrr even on 295's..

lol...if you are losing traction with 295's then you either have really bad tires or there is something really wrong with your setup. i am running e85 tune from cobb and hitting 410 whp and i dont have traction problems. running 275 re-11 tires.

I have 295s pilot sports with meth and e85 it feels like I loose traction to 80 or 90 but it's the soft subframe bushings and the power to the rear causes a form of torque steer!

No I meant traction control show ON! And I have Pirelli pilots . Tried also nitto invo... And assumetric bf.. All plus or minus lose it up to 60-65mph if I floor it..
But I did not change anything on my rear suspension ... Guess I should too.. I was thinking twice more ground to put power down would help. Lol vive LSD.. Guess I may have to invest $1800+ not $750 on that M6 one... :-(( Last edited by BeGood69; 04-24-2013 at 02:11 PM.. |
