Hertz, Audison and Memphis Car Audio
Hey guys
A local audio shop says they only deal with Hertz, Audison and Memphis Car Audio - are any of these decent brands for e90 upgrades ?

Reviews are mostly positive on most audio sites and Ama-ZZZONNN. |

No, don't try to put a square peg in a round hole. Look for the brands that have proven to work with our cars.

Hertz has some kits for the E90:
http://www.audioassault.co.uk/Hertz_...peaker_Upgrade The Bavsound kits are good too, and any local installer can put them in for you. |

Yes most local audio shops will sell you there junk

weather it works for your car or not. If you don't want to run the experiment at your expense you are better off sticking to the stuff that this board has found works and works well. |

So either would work. True, the OP can certainly search the forums and find good info for "tried and true" hardware. But since they were asking specifically for three brands, and details were provided for one of the three. Last edited by larrysing; 04-07-2016 at 10:13 PM.. |

You might as well get the mbquart kit
You might as well get the mbquart kit over that one it gets
you a 8 inch under seat for nearly the same price. https://www.vminnovations.com/Produc...-zkaAhV08P8HAQ If you have the slightest skill with a screwdriver and tools you can put one of these kits in yourself. Last edited by ctuna; 04-07-2016 at 10:37 PM.. |

"by no means junk" - I will take that to be Your Opinion, fair enough. Designed as OEM replacement doesn't exactly mean 'good' either.

I wouldn't consider those brands junk either. They actually make some high end equipment. Problem is, that the system linked earlier is not designed specifically for our cars and the individual drivers, as well as the crossover, will not work well at all in this application. Think about it, is a Porsche 911 a high-end sports car? - Of course it is, but would you buy this car for your wife if the sole purpose was to haul around half a youth soccer team to and from practice? Of course not!

Well its markted as a drop in
Hertz ESK-163L BMW E90-E91-E92 Speaker Upgrade
Also notice it is a Euro site and the price is in Euro's When I first discovered this site audison was the really high end equipment. Since then it seems others have taken there place . Also I seem to equate Hertz with 8 tack tape players in the 60's. I know its still a more popular brand in Europe the visibility on what it doing here in the states is low. There are many threads here about Bavsound if people care to look them up. The thing is to that almost anything you do to the base system will be some improvement but this kind of whole thing depends on expectations and money. 1) I just want to improve it I don't want to spend a lot 2) I want the best bang for the buck 3)I want and awesome system money be dammed. 4) I am some were between 2 and 3 and I don't want to mess around with experiments. And all points in between . Last edited by ctuna; 04-08-2016 at 03:26 PM.. |

Thanks for the input fellas
I do have a installer that is reputable and has jenhertz mids tweets and subs , and helix amp- but the kit doesn't include rear deck speakers - I know they are pretty useless but I'd like to replace them too Trying to decide |

You can always update the rears later

also the dsp/amp if we are talking about the helix 82 dsp should make the rears sound a lot better. I would see if he can install the front speakers active and how much more that would be. This means the tweeter and 4 inch door speaker has its own channel. |
