Adding Weatherband to 2009 e90 without IDrive.

For my 2009 335i e90 sedan Non-Idrive, it has the Weatherband option listed in my FSW_PSW.TRC file. If I enable it to Aktiv, will I get the Weatherband on my BMW Professional radio even though I don't have Idrive?

Will wait for more responses. If not, I may just go ahead and try it myself.

Yes you will. I did mine after seeing that option. I'm from ontario as well so you should get weather on station 1.

So I have tried coding to get weatherband on my 2009 E90 with CIC Nav.

Went through NCS Expert, CAS, E89, Read CIC module and change the RADIO_WEATHERBAND to aktiv and coded it in. Now I see the Weather in the radio menu and I can go in there and see 7 stations.

But none of those stations have any reception. I'm wondering if I did anything wrong? I am in Toronto, Ontario, Canada so not sure if I should be receiving anything but I think I should.

Or does this only work on 2010-2011?

Anyone can confirm that the Weatherband works in Canada? I got a faint reception today but it seems to be from the USA>

See my post below. It's a US based system requiring a special receiver.

I think the 3 series do have the receiver in it.

As mentioned before, on the odd times I receive US radio stations, I can pick up weather information for the USA in the car.

According to this, I should be able to pick up the weather in Canada

Anyway update on this. In order for it to work it seems like I have to be in very specific areas. In downtown Toronto, it seems to pick up reception but once I am outside the downtown core it doesn't seem to work.

The weather information seems to be marine information.

Lucky you ic_bmw, you got Nav so you can enable that option! Non-Nav vehicles can not enable the weatherband option.

Are you sure? On my car ('11 E82) the option resides in the 2URAD module. Unfortunately it's the only module my version of INPA cannot read. I miss not having WB, it reminds me of driving an E30.
