After: Upgrade to 19" Morr VS8 + Dinan Stage III Suspension

I've been meaning to post this since June, but finally got a chance to get the car detailed and thought it was worth taking a few photos. For reference, here are the before photos:

I really like how the car came out and the handling is superb. The combination of the Dinan Stage III with the Michelin PS2s is immensely better than the original sport suspension with the RFTs. The Morr VS8s fill out the car well. I've actually had a few people mistake it for an M3.

Thoughts?

Very nice wheels! The drop in the front could be slightly more in my opinion.

It's the camber plate. If you take it out it looks better but you loose .5 degrees of negative camber. You can use the tension rods from the m3. The give .75 degrees of negative camber.

This looks very, very nice. I get my Dinan parts in a few weeks. Stage 3, with the M3 control and tension. So I will have more neg camber.

The new MORR rims are in, and Andy has sent me pricing over. They would come in 120 days though, and I will have my snows on.....

Guys, I have the 230s with 235/265 pole positions on now, non RFTs. How much understeer is this going to have? Maybe with the camber plates and M3 bits it will be ok. Now I am worried.

I would have like more of a drop on the front too, but that is probably ok with curbs and snow. Will yours drop at all? Can you measure you current setup. I just took measurements of stock ZSP with 19s.

Hi Meepster, back from the shop? I can't wait for a review. My Dinan parts came in.... just waiting for the M3 Control arms now.

I am debating the rear subframe bushings and the rear control arms too....

Do the alignment once.

Yep, but I'm about 3000 miles away as well. Will be back next Wednesday to check it out (hopefully). I got the bushings and parts all at once and highly recommend them to complement/stiffen the backend.

It looks higher than zsp suspension, mine is 25.5 inches front and 25.25 inches front with stock 189's and zsp

BTW, those pics with the tape are BEFORE the Dinan Stage 3. and with 19" and with 1 size UP (non RFT) on the tires (235/265). that is interesting to note that mine is 1/2" high right now.

I don't expect the Dinan to drop much due to the front camber plates... maybe 1/4" now. That is a bit disappointing - if it turns out that way. I was hoping for a full 1/2" min.

Any update and pics? All my M3 parts are in, I have the Dinan stage 3 ready to go... probably booking next week or week after.

How do you like this Meepster? Still pretty happy? With the rims and tires do you really feel the front end pull in quicker and have more balance? Still understeer there?

Would love to hear a detailed description of how it is going to be.

I think the ride quality is better than the sport suspension (mine was around 40k original miles on it already) and I think the car handles exceptionally. It's certainly a bit quicker to respond to bumps, etc. but overall with the 19" wheels + non-RFT tires I like it. It absorbs imperfections better IMO, is reasonably firm and the car is flat in the corners.

Do note - my car is not a daily driver, so I can't say I've spent a lot of time in the car other than at the track and on the way to/from the track. It's certainly not as hard as a race suspension, but if you live in a pothole infested area, I could imagine it sucking/being on par with the sport suspension. I'm a thumbs-up/recommend.

I live in California which has some of the worst roads in America. What really bothered me about the stock ZSP is the fact that it rode super stiff and busy but had a considerable amount of body roll and unersteer. Dinan's is definitly stiffer, but does things better than ZSP. For example, when you hit a sharp bump at high speed with ZSP the tire would catch air and loose traction. Dinan's will keep the tire on the ground because the shock valving is better. You'll notice several detail like that. It might be a bit bouncy in the car, but it does so many other things better so it's worth the harsh ride. It's tolerable though if you're used to ZSP. If you come from non-ZSP it might be a bit of a shock.

H&r sports have the best drop w 19s tuckn tires or almost! But din an is prob more comfortable
