Airport raceway videos!

Hey guys,

Found a few videos from the weekends airport race you guys might be interested in. BMS' 135i ran very well. It was in the same trim as the record breaking 1/4 mile runs only with 3/4 tank of 98 octane and a lot more weight. Not to mention a less skilled driver.

Mods are JB4, WW Meth, CPE downpipes, BigTom IC, DCI, CPE chargepipe.

BMS vs Tuned/Exhaust/Intake E63 AMG. The cars go by fast but the 135i is the one way out front.

BMS vs. Tuned C63 (very fast car, runs 123mph traps). This is the C63 that was supposed to race SIHK.

BMS running map 2 with meth disabled vs. Cobb S2+ Aggressive FBO on race gas. This one was just to give an idea of how the JB4 stacks up against Cobb off the meth. The video was not really done properly but it was a few cars. Both cars started in 2nd gear for this one.

This one is my favorite, BMS vs an ESS supercharged M3 "535" package. Video is shot from the M3 with very cool logistics software connected. BMS recorded 152mph at the cones during this run on their VBOX (160mph on the speedo).

They even took one for the team. The event was sponsored by bimmerpost!

Oh and with all this Italia 458 talk I noticed this old video of a JB3 map 7 (oldie but goodie!) holding off one for awhile from a dig...

Italia got him in part 2 though.

The JB4 on Map2 totally smashed the Cobb Stg2+ - that was very impressive. What sort of HP is your 135i putting out without meth?

Nice vids and great runs by the jb4 platform.

Wish we could find an apples to apples comparison though instead of a 135 vs multiple 335 runs. Either way, those 200-250lbs probably wouldn't have made up for that gap you put on the 335.

Terry's 135 was definitely the fastest stock turbo car there...but all the n54's represented very well for our community!

In fact, I ran dead even with the same ESS VT1 supercharged e92 M3 with only a Procede, Meth, DCI and RR 2.5" dps...and I'm fully weight with heavy 19" wheels/tires! The M3 dyno'd at 471 RWHP SAE. The M3 got it on video...do you have that one as well?

FYI: With over a dozen vbox test runs, same road, same conditions, my 335i sedan did almost exactly the same test numbers. In fact my numbers in general were a little faster than the 135i overall. 8.39 for the sedan vs 8.59 for the 135i in the 60-130, and 126mph for my sedan vs 125.4 mph for the 135i. Both with the same kind of weight reduction. Both tested within weeks of each other. My car was on straight 91/meth. So nothing special about the way the 135i is set up at all. Also remember, the 135i is running a more restrictive stock single rear exhaust compared to the 335i setup. And Terry weighs at least 35 lbs more than me, was running with almost 3/4 tank of fuel and a baby seat. Far from a optimized setup.

I can honestly say that the modded white C63 AMG is FAST. It pins you back in the seat when it takes off. He also went to Famoso the same day as the 135i the weekend before, so these results are not surprising. If there are still any doubters as to the outcome I predicted, I'm sure Xtyper would be willing to race any stock turbo N54 that would like to volunteer against his AMG. You will see how fast his car is. Its too bad all the races we looked forward to couldn't materialize.

Also, this is the kind of proof we were looking for. Isn't it amazing how things go from "The 135i was supposedly only trapping 140mph through the cones" to the fact that the speedo was indicating around 160mph. BIG difference. No matter what kind of run the M3 had in the video, you can clearly see in the video it is going 140mph through the cones, with the 135i many bus lengths ahead so quickly, so you can do the math.

FYI: I have run at three drag strip events with different 458i Italias, (some with very good drivers). In my fastest form, my traps were consistently a few mph faster than the 458's. Without the dry shot, I was only a few mph slower. No stock 458 has come close to running 130 at Famoso. They run around 126mph there. The best the 135i ran there a little over a week ago was 125.4mph. (Timeslip on record).

So even though nitrous runs and single turbo runs will alway trump the stock setups, the performance level for 95% of the N54 population (with simple inexpensive mods) is looking very strong and promising.

Here are a couple more videos I found from a JB4 customer racing at the event.

First one is his JB4 fbo meth customer vs. procede fbo meth. He missed his 4->5 shift but it was a good race.

Second is same car against another procede + meth car.

I am the e90 in this video and I am not FBO. I have just intake and meth. This was the first run of the day and meth cut out. You can literally see when it does cut out. The JB4 car would not let me get a rematch in all day. Argggggg. Fun day though wish I got a rematch because my car was running flawless the rest of the day.

I only wish the track was in better shape and that there was a return road. It took a while between races. I just hope this spawns lots of more airstrip events. Much more fun than drag racing.

I got only one vid of you Drew (not against the GTR)..it doesn't show much since you were blowing by him during the run..pretty much like most of the guys you ran..I was really impressed with your car and I think a lot of ppl counted it out..but truth is it consistently kept winning..

Awesome thanks for posting! Just to clarify, I actually short shifted 4-5 at 5,700 RPM and then accidently hit the kickdown button so it shifted back to 4th and was about to abort but then I saw the hiccup from SRranch and so I shifted back to 5th floored it (made sure not to hit kickdown again) and ended in a tie.

I'm not FBO either...just Procede with Stage 2 maps, DCI, 65/35 meth/water ratio and RR 2.5" dp...plus full weight and 19" wheels and 6AT. SRanch has JB4, 100% meth, intercooler, dps, dvs, exhaust maybe or just bigger tips, drag radials, no passenger seat and 6MT.

Great run SRanch! And sorry again for screwing up our grudge match

Yes, true. When I ran Hellblazer, we were both working 100%. We have similar mods (Procede Stage 2) but I have catlezz dps as an additional mod. The results were very close. I think I won by a car length or something like that. Great run!
