Sorry for the rant. All I'm saying is it's fine that you guys have your opinions about Gavin, as a lot of them are probably well deserved, but you're hounding the guy and saying his failure was imminent from day one when his intent was really just to make something big happen for n52 people. Take it easy.

dyno hasn't proven a thing? or the dyno hasn't been produced yet. i can't recall seeing a dyno, but regardless, getting headers would give you gains if thats what ur concerned about. if you're concerned about cost/benefit then headers probably aren't for you.

totally understand people being frustrated with the headers and lip and what not. plus gavin was never a very responsive vendor, but he tried to give the community what it wanted. he just didn't deliver on time or in this case, the supercharger just never happened. either way, if you waited long enough and resisted the urge to refund, you usually got what you wanted... which is better than what happened with some vendors in the past

Not surprised one bit. I was never interested in the SC, but enjoyed following the crazy back and forth bickering from each side of the camp. When one year passed, I knew the project would probably never happen. Tuning FI on the N52 is very tricky, and there is no way he could offer a warranty on a kit like that, which is what people wanted. Realistically, that would have been a huge risk to his business, and just one or 2 claims would totally wipe him out. Yet people still wanted to believe sooo much, and who would really spend 8k on an N52 SC kit with limited support?
at least he tried tho. Now maybe he can concentrate on making headers that are true bolt-on parts instead. |

Let's be real here -- who was actually going to pull the trigger on a $$$ SC kit for their N52 anyway?

not very many. majority of people were just curious to see if its possible (i had no intent to buy)... i bet less than 5% of those with interest had the intent to buy anyways.

Im not here to argue...just stating that I was really interested in the headers but I can NOT justify spending that much money for a product that is UNPROVEN! I am still waiting on the dynos...but it seems like no one wants to get one. I bought the AFE intake a few years ago and found out it was causing a loss in power to my 530i, so I removed it. I just want to make sure that all the LOUD NOISE will actually come with an increase in horsepower. How can we blindly say that the "headers will give you gains"? I do not agree with that statement because lots of people can bend some pipes...not challenging his reputation or anything but I just wanted something on paper instead of "Butt-Dynos". |

this whole supercharging the n52 idea seems pretty silly. For 5-8k i'd rather sell my 328i and get a 335i.
I dont understand the logic behind buying a supercharger for these cars. Its not like theres a huge price discrepancy between the 328i and 335i. edit: lol at 335i owners posting ITT |

Sad story. I'm sorry for all those that actually believed it could be delivered; but this is actually the best business decision they could ever make.

so, who's brave to go to Arma and their new Rotorex kit
If my intuition is correct, this rotorex unit is the same that is used by evolve and others. Compact size model Their original blew up because their blower was a new design not a tested reputable product. Sucks about MMW, being a pioneer is one thing, telling us to expect a new product was their mistake. He should have completed it first to 100% and then proceed with cost benefit analysis to bring it to market.
