Joyriide Detailed: Black Miata

Had the pleasure to detail a black Mazda Miata. It belongs to a forum member who only likes to drive it on the weekend. It sits outside so it had more water spotting than it did swirls, and a little bit of oxidation, but not too much. Dropped it off this morning @ 9:30 and stuck around for bit and talked cars while I cleaned and washed it up before polishing. He was only interested in a light polishing, so I went with the all favorite Menzerna 106ff with a variety of pads, from 7.5 to 4'', to make sure all areas received a good exfoliation. Loved it. Good intial cut and bite which quickly finished almost glaze like. Zaino Z2pro followed which left the paint sparkling.

Enough talk and more walk!

Exterior
P215 Wheel Gel
Meguairs APC (wheel arches)
Meguiars Super Degreaser (engine)
Meguairs Gold Class Wash
Zaino Clay Bar with Megs Last Touch
Menzerna PO106ff 1200-1700rpms
Z6 Wipedown
ZFX'd Z2pro x1
Poorboys Trim Restoror on exterior trim
CD-2 Engine Detail
Zaino Z16 on Tires

Interior

Zaino Z9 on all surfaces
Zaino Z10 on all surfaces
Invisible Glass Aerosal
Meguiars APC+ on pedals.
All vents blown with compressed air

During

(take a look at how well Poorboy's Trim Restorer beads. This pic was taken during the 2nd wash after the car was polished to remove excess amounts of polishing dust.

Afters

Nice work joy, great correction for a one step. That interior looks real nice, never seen one like that.

Yea, like I said, its really only driven on the weekends and based on the amount of waterspots it had I assume it wasn't washed weekly, so there was little wash induced swirling and marring.

Tell me about it. I use a point and shoot Sony Cybershot. If I had a DSLR, trust me, I'd be ghost here on E90post. I'd be reading and practicing taking shots all day.

Not many settings for me to choose from. Even its manual mode, only gives you little options. No slower shutter speeds, nothing.

Nice work! I'm not a huge fan of Miatas, but that's a good-looking car.

The owner really loves it actually. Low torque aside, he feels it drives a million times better than his 335i.
