At some point you gotta know you can't get gains endlessly. At some point there is simply nothing else to be had. I don't know that there is much else left at the table at this point. I have been wrong before, but I suspect if there is anything it will be so small you might not even notice the difference.

If/when Shiv gets the autotune working, he'll have pwned his competitors right and royal!

In fact, I hope he seeks and gets intellectual property protection.

He must be working on some skunk works 'Game-Changer' type stuff. Its unfortunate the game hasn't really changed the last two times he stated it would. More of the same really, some folks like PROcede, others like JB.

But seriously the dude might have actually taken a vacation finally for all you know.. lol

I'm very happy. The 5-29 maps feel outstanding. I am just excited to see some of the things mentioned in the past come to fruition:

1)New user software
2)Maps that use canbus variables (the major reason to upgrade from Rev i to rev ii)
3)Meth kit designed by Shiv
4)Auto Tuning

I'm sure it will be worth the wait.

5) firmwares that don't mess up with the Bavarian Technic

last time I had a "condition base service" check it ended up showing that according to the scan I outran the brake pads limit of approximately 400.000 miles

it was firmware #115, too bad Shiv told us that #117 was the "BT-friendly" one since he got us the 5/29 maps with firmware #115 and only later on he came up with #117 to avoid problems with the BT

There was also a problem with the BT software that would not allow adjustments to the Condition Based Service. No matter what value you adjusted it to, it would return to the same numbers.

I reported it to BT and they confirmed, fixed it, and released a new software verision about a day later.

BT has excellent customer service.

I think I was on 2-19 as well. I guess I'll make the update. I don't have the wire going to my glovebox anymore, and I just hate opening the hood, etc.

I might put stage 0 instead of 1 given the high temps. I currently odn't have any other mods on the car except some new rubber

I doubt it would be an outright game changer but rather a more refined product with more features. I also doubt there can be much more of a performance change.

His 105.99 sounds underwhelming but decent if I assume it is a map designed for 93 octane. His race map on the other hand is a pretty good improvement. Probably was a hot day and the humidity killing the performance.

it almost sounds as if your friend was running a map too aggressive for his mods/fuel. I ran a 13.1 @ 106 in a SSTT only 6MT E92 and the clutch was acting up. It actually blew out staging for the 4th run. Shifts and engagement now feel crisper and faster so I think that same car would do a 12.8 or 12.9 at hopefully about 108?

Anyway, that PROcede needs to be set up properly and apparently the driver mod needs to be upgraded

Well there are so many factors that affect the results. If the PROcede wasn't set up correctly by being too aggressive, he would most likely be getting inconsistent times. I don't think the slow time tells us anything about his setup other than it is slower than expected. I'm sure his DA was reaching close to the 2000ft. That alone would take a couple mphs off his trap speed.

He has no mods other than Procede. He must have been running race gas since he ran a race gas map. He buys VP 109 locally.

I'll let him know you disapprove of his capability.

shouldn't he be running a DCI and some catless DPs to take advantage of the race gas map...I mean adding race gas map helps a little but without accompanying mods what does he expect?

Who said anything about expectations? I read in this thread that the new map turned the car into a beast. So I asked him 1) if he downloaded the latest map, 2) did he track it while I was gone, and 3) does the new map turn his car into a beast. He just said that he did track the car and that the latest map is no beast. Then someone asked about his times, which I got from him and posted.

I never heard him say one thing about expectations. He's not much of a complainer and wouldn't fit in well here. If you give me your phone number I'll pass it along and you can take it up with him directly.

Both - Shiv said around page 7 or 8 that you need to use the new firmware with the new maps or you might only see stock boost.

Update the firmware to the "pro01v03beta117.bin" version, then upload the V3.3 5-29 maps. Remember these are not doomsday maps, which won't matter to you if you have a BT Tool or are pre-29.2 DME.
